New AI Tools to Help You Make Things Happen on Facebook

Facebook introduces new AI-powered features to help people get answers, create shareable photos and videos, and make more with less effort. The update adds AI Mode for grounded answers from public posts, plus collage, montage, and photo restyle tools for easier creative sharing.

    Easier Ways to Find Answers

Today we’re rolling out new features on Facebook to help you find answers to your questions, create fun photos and videos, and make things happen with the help of AI. They can help you get more done with less effort, whether that’s finding real answers from real people, creating content that’s ready to share, or turning a quick idea into something bigger.

AI Mode is a new way to get answers to your questions right on Facebook thanks to Meta AI. From exploring your Feed to searching for something specific, AI Mode uses Meta AI to give you answers grounded in what people are saying publicly across our apps like in Groups and Reels, so you get real perspectives and experiences rather than a generic list of search results.

It’s another way Meta AI, powered by Muse Spark, is showing up for you in the experiences you already use. Whether you’re searching or diving deeper into content, Meta AI is right there, ready to help.

New Tools to Create and Share

We’re also introducing new editing capabilities that leverage AI to make creative sharing even easier. We’re updating our camera roll sharing suggestions with new collage cutout templates — like friend hangs from the last month — as well as new transition effects to produce smooth, stylized video montages that are ready to share.

These suggestions remain opt-in only and can be turned off at any time. Learn more about how this feature works here.

Sometimes your favorite captures can get lost in the shuffle, or you simply don’t have time to create something special. With just a tap, create standout videos and collages you’ll actually want to share.

We’re also introducing new photo presets that make it easy to change your clothing, hair, and accessories with AI. For sports fans, you can easily rep your fandom and virtually wear a team jersey to celebrate. Just tap on the AI Edit icon in stories and select Wear It or go directly to your profile picture and tap Restyle profile picture with AI and select Wardrobe.

Whether you’re looking for answers, creating something to share, or just trying something new, these tools make it easier and more fun to make things happen on Facebook, with the help of AI and the people already here.

Going All in for Global Football Fans Across Meta Apps

Facebook adds football-themed experiences for the summer tournament, including Football Mode, AI jersey try-on, expressive stickers, themed chat features, and real-time Live Updates in Messenger and Threads, while Instagram and WhatsApp surface curated match-day content.

This summer, the world’s biggest football tournament is coming to North America, and will be discussed in real time by billions of people across our platforms. We’re partnering with creators, athletes, and teams to highlight the conversation and culture around every match — from pre-game hype to post-game debate.

Partnering With Creators, Athletes, and Teams

We’re working with broadcasters, national teams, commentators, creators, and players to bring unique points of view on the tournament to our apps. Key moments, behind-the-scenes content, pre-game preparations, post-game analyses, celebrations, and commiserations will live on Meta apps designed for sharing and discussing with your friends, family, and fellow fans.

New Features for Fans Across Meta’s Family of Apps

    Threads

Threads is built for real-time conversation around the things people care about. When something wild happens on the field, fans know they can go to Threads for hot takes, banter, and real-time reactions. This summer, we’re building on that experience with new features and a dedicated community designed for the way fans actually watch the tournament.

    • Live Chats: Pull up to real-time conversations hosted by football commentators, athletes, and creators before, during, and after matches. React, reply, and talk straight to the hosts as it all unfolds. Sergio Aguero, the Argentina football legend and Ian Wright, the former England striker and current TV and radio pundit, will each host three Live Chats over the course of the tournament. Follow both on Threads to get notified when their Live Chats begin. Check for an updated schedule and more hosts announced on @threads throughout the tournament.

    • Football Community: A special community for this summer’s tournament on Threads is the one place for it all: match-day conversation, player content, and post-game debate.

    • Live Scores: We’re giving you real-time match scores with national team branding, appearing inline as you post and in Live Chats so you can follow along while you chat.

    • Team Flair: You can now choose a flag badge to appear next to your name and profile picture, so you can rep your country all tournament.

    • Stickers: We’re introducing packs that show up in the composer the second you start posting about a match. Say it with more than words.

    • Custom Emoji: You’ll now have football and trophy reactions for tournament posts.

    • Media Highlights: We’re aggregating top content from broadcasters for you to read and react to.

    • Never Miss a Moment: We’ll be spotlighting important conversation in Search, and adding Game Reminders that ping you for kickoffs and the moments you can’t miss.

    Instagram

We’re making Instagram the go-to place for all things tournament-related.

    • Enhanced Search: We’re introducing a brand new, enhanced search experience, so when you search for the tournament or tap the tournament button on football videos globally, you’ll land on a dedicated destination that surfaces curated, real-time content from across Instagram. You’ll see top Reels, Stories, and featured accounts from official rights-holding broadcasters and national teams, alongside the best fan content.

    • AI-Powered Voice Effects: To make connecting with friends over the matches more fun, we’re globally rolling out a new ‘Goal!’ voice effect powered by AI in Instagram DMs. Send one to unlock a surprise animation.

    Facebook

Facebook is going full football mode with a range of new features that bring match-day energy to every interaction.

    • Football Mode: Double-tap the Facebook logo at the top of Feed to activate football mode across the app and celebrate the tournament with themed reactions and other surprises. Plus, gain access to a special football game and custom app icon by long-pressing on the logo.

    • Wear It: Sport your favorite national team’s jersey with the new Wear It feature, which lets fans use AI to virtually try on jerseys and show their support by sharing the image as a profile picture, story, or post.

    • Express Yourself: Find exclusive tournament-themed stickers, football-inspired design edits, and brand new expressive tools throughout Facebook to fuel your fandom.

    Messenger

Messenger is launching new features to bring the tournament hype directly into your group chat.

    • Live Updates: This new feature brings real-time match highlights directly into your Messenger group chat. When Live Updates is activated, your thread instantly goes from delayed reactions to real-time celebrations — no refreshing, no spoilers, just you and your friends reacting together as goals, red cards, and key match moments appear in your chat while the action unfolds on the pitch. To turn Live Updates on, just tap the plus sign in the bottom left navigation bar of your group chat and pick a game to get updates about.

    • Chat Theme: Add an extra kick of football to your group chat by activating a limited-edition chat theme. Just long-press on the background of any group chat to change your background to a football pitch.

    • Stickers: When words aren’t enough to capture your fandom, express yourself with our exclusive tournament-themed animated stickers.

    WhatsApp

The only thing that matches the energy on the pitch is your group chat. WhatsApp has rolled out features to make following the tournament with the people you care about even more fun.

    • Trionda Upgrade: We partnered with Adidas to bring the official match ball for this summer’s tournament to WhatsApp. Now through the finals, the football emoji has been upgraded to the Trionda ball. Send it as a message or drop it as a reaction.

    • Calling Effects: We’ve also introduced new football calling effects, so you can bring the fun and fandom to your next group video call — filters you can add onto your face or background while you’re on a live video call.

    • Football Sticker Packs: And for when you need just the right sticker to express how you feel after that missed penalty or questionable red card, we’ve rolled out a football-themed sticker pack to better express how you’re really feeling about a game.

    • A Dedicated Football Directory: During the tournament, you can expect match-day countdowns, behind-the-scenes moments, and real-time highlights from channels across WhatsApp. We’ve created a dedicated football directory to bring together your favorite teams, latest scores, and updates all in one place for easy access.

    • Say it With a Status: We’re also rolling out the ability for Channels to post to Status, just in time for the tournament. You’ll see statuses from channels you follow alongside other statuses, and can also view a channel’s status when you visit a Channel. You can hide any channel’s statuses so it no longer appears alongside your statuses, or unfollow the channel at any time.

    Protecting Athletes and Fans Online

Football fans across the globe will use our apps to connect around the tournament. While most will be rooting for their favorite teams and players, unfortunately there may be bad actors who will try to lure people into scams or harass and abuse others — offline and online. We recently shared more details about the steps we’re taking to combat scams and our approach to keeping fans and players safe from abuse, including new in-app reminders for people searching for tickets — and updating existing ones to help people stay safe on our apps.

“We’re about to witness the biggest cultural moment of all time, and Meta will be at the very centre of showcasing the tournament’s action and surrounding culture beyond the 90 minutes on the pitch. As the place where football conversation lives and grows, Meta’s suite of apps will allow billions of fans across the globe to connect and enjoy the highs and lows of the beautiful game together.”

    — Rob Pilgrim, Global Football Lead, Meta

We’re excited to help fans immerse themselves in football culture this summer through our family of apps.

Introducing Creator Assistant, Plus More Languages For AI Translations on Facebook

Facebook introduces creator assistant, an AI-powered dashboard partner that turns performance insights into personalized, actionable ideas for creators. It also expands AI Reels translations to help creators reach wider audiences across more languages.

    Takeaways

    • Creator assistant on Facebook gives every creator a partner that turns their performance insights into actionable ideas — so they can create with confidence.
    • Creator assistant provides personalized recommendations based on a creator’s content style, performance, and community and gets smarter over time as it learns their goals.
    • We’re continuing to build AI-powered tools to help creators grow, create, and succeed on Facebook — including expanding Reels AI translations to help creators reach new audiences.

Today, we’re announcing creator assistant on Facebook, a personalized creative partner for creators built directly into their dashboard on Facebook. Creator assistant understands each creator’s unique presence — their audience, engagement trends, and performance — and helps them take action to grow.

Creator assistant is part of our overall investment to enhance the creator experience on Facebook with AI, from powering discovery that connects people with creator content they’ll love and helping creators find their next idea to breaking down barriers that once limited their reach.

Go Beyond The Numbers To Understand The Why

Behind the best creator content is usually a lot of time spent digging into performance and figuring out what worked, why, and what to try next. Knowing what performed well has gotten easier over time — but understanding why something has resonated has remained one of the hardest questions for creators to answer. This requires connecting dots across formats, timing, audience consumption, and more — all while managing a brand.

Creator assistant is designed to help unlock those answers. Rather than analyzing a bunch of different dashboards and charts, creators can simply go to their dashboard on Facebook and ask creator assistant the questions they want answered, like why a particular reel outperformed the rest, or how their audience has shifted over time. Creator assistant is conversational, so they can keep asking follow-up questions to dig deeper.

A Creative Spark When You Need It

Creators will get clear, actionable responses based on each creator’s own specific Facebook presence, including why content resonates more with their audience and what they can do differently to improve performance. The result: ideas and insights that are tailored, relevant, and actionable.

When creative blocks hit, creator assistant acts as a brainstorming partner — drawing on what’s trending on Facebook to suggest fresh ideas, new content angles, and timely inspiration. Think trending audio, cultural moments, and top-performing content styles. With each interaction, creator assistant learns what the creator is working towards — whether that’s audience growth, deeper engagement, or monetization — creator assistant tailors its recommendations accordingly.

Creator assistant on Facebook is rolling out to creators in the US, Canada, and India. Over the coming months we’ll add new capabilities to creator assistant and expand access to more countries.

Learn more about how to use creator assistant here.

Reaching Global Audiences With AI-Powered Reels Translations

In addition to helping creators work smarter, AI is breaking down language barriers so creators can expand their reach to new audiences. Since introducing AI translations last year, creators across 9 languages have used translations to unlock some of the largest audiences on Reels. Over half a billion users on Facebook are now watching AI-translated videos weekly.

AI translations preserve the sound and tone of a creator’s voice, and with optional lipsyncing, it really feels like the creator is speaking another language.

Available languages will soon be expanding to Arabic, Bahasa Indonesian, French, Thai, and Vietnamese. Learn more and get the latest updates here.

What we’re sharing today is just the beginning. We’re committed to building AI-powered tools that help creators succeed on Facebook, and we’re excited to learn as we go.

New 13+ Content Settings for Teen Accounts Expanding Globally on Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger

Facebook expands Teen Accounts’ 13+ content settings globally across Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger, adds a test to reduce repeated teen content on Instagram, and says an external assessment found the protections working as intended with stronger limits for Limited Content.

    Takeaways

    • Teen Accounts’ new 13+ content settings are now expanding globally on Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger.
    • We’re testing a new feature on Instagram that helps teens get more variety in what they see and helps prevent them from seeing certain types of content repeatedly.
    • An external assessment showed that Instagram Teen Accounts’ new content settings are working as promised.

Last October, we updated Instagram Teen Accounts in the US, UK, Australia, and Canada, defaulting teens into a new 13+ content setting. Inspired by movie ratings criteria and parent feedback, this setting is designed to help teens see age-appropriate content by default, and 9 out of 10 teens have remained in this setting since its launch. We also introduced a stricter setting called Limited Content, for parents who prefer an even more restrictive experience for their teen.

Today, we’re sharing an update on this work, including testing a new way to help make sure teens aren’t repeatedly seeing certain types of content.

Expanding Our New 13+ Content Settings To Instagram, Facebook and Messenger Teen Accounts Globally

We’re expanding our 13+ content settings to Teen Accounts globally across Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger. Facebook’s new 13+ default setting is designed to hide content that’s inappropriate for teens in places like Feed and Reels, and to limit teens’ ability to interact with Profiles, Pages, Groups and Events that primarily post inappropriate content. On Messenger, the 13+ default setting limits teens’ ability to view links to inappropriate Facebook content, or to chat with accounts that primarily share inappropriate content on Facebook. The Limited Content setting will also become available on Facebook and Messenger later this year.

As we’ve expanded the new content settings to more countries and apps, we’ve also continued to invite parents around the world to rate Facebook and Instagram content and tell us if they think it’s appropriate for teens. We’ve heard from hundreds of thousands of parents who have rated more than 15 million pieces of content. In our most recent survey at the end of April, where parents in the US, UK, Australia, and Canada reviewed Facebook content that had been recommended to teens in their respective countries, fewer than 2% of posts were considered inappropriate for teens by most parents.

A New Way to Help Prevent Teens From Repeatedly Seeing Certain Types of Content on Instagram

We’re also continuing to explore other ways to help make sure teens are having positive, age-appropriate experiences on our apps. We recognize that some content — like posts about nutrition, weightlifting, or how to cope with anxiety — can be helpful, but it should be balanced with other types of content rather than shown repeatedly. That’s why we’re testing ways to limit teens from seeing too many posts of this kind in one go, including in Explore, Feed, and Reels.

An External Assessment To Stress-Test Our Teen Account Content Settings

To help make sure our new content settings are working to deliver the positive, age-appropriate experience we want for Teen Accounts, we asked Alice (formerly ActiveFence) to evaluate our Teen Account settings and perform sophisticated, adversarial stress-testing. Alice is made up of online safety experts with extensive experience in stress-testing systems designed to keep people safe.

Alice compared mature themes, based on Meta’s age-appropriate guidelines found on Instagram, a leading competitor, and in movies rated 13+. This provided a helpful benchmark to understand what teens could see on Instagram Teen Accounts compared to elsewhere. Alice’s assessment found that:

    • Instagram Teen Accounts in the default 13+ setting saw 68% less mature content than on the competitor’s teen experience;
    • Instagram Teen Accounts in the stricter Limited Content setting experienced an additional layer of protection, seeing 96% less mature content than on the competitor’s teen experience;
    • Where Instagram Teen Accounts did see mature content, it was less intense than the mature content seen on the competitor and in movies rated 13+;
    • Instagram blocked mature search terms more frequently than its competitor;
    • The following functionalities worked as described: Instagram Teen Accounts are defaulted into the 13+ content setting; teens can’t select the More Content setting without a parent’s permission, and teens in the Limited Content setting can’t see or post comments.

Alice’s analysis identified two areas for improvement, which we worked quickly to address. Instagram Teen Accounts already had safeguards in place to prevent interaction with accounts that regularly share age-inappropriate content. When Alice’s assessment identified a few exceptions, we immediately updated our detection signals to better catch them. As the Alice report notes, “these improvement measures were subsequently retested and found to be effective prior to publication.”

In the rare instances where Alice’s researchers encountered mature content on Instagram, it mostly involved “risky stunts” or “viral challenges.” After review, we found that ”car surfing” — a newly popular trend — wasn’t yet covered by our policies, unlike ”subway surfing,” which was already restricted for teens. We moved quickly to update our policies and restrict this content for teens.

We are encouraged by these results, and will continue to rigorously stress test our systems to help us keep improving.

More details on Alice’s results and the methodology are available here.

Note: There are lots of differences between social media and movies. We didn’t work with the MPA when updating our content settings, and they’re not rating any content on Instagram, and they’re not endorsing or approving our content settings in any way. Rather, we drew inspiration from the MPA’s public guidelines, which are already familiar to parents, as well as feedback from parents. Our content moderation systems are not the same as a movie ratings board, so the experience may not be exactly the same.

Creator Fast Track: A New Way to Quickly Grow Your Audience and Earn Money on Facebook

Facebook launches Creator Fast Track to help new and rediscovering creators grow faster with increased Reel reach, three months of guaranteed pay, and immediate access to Content Monetization. Facebook also adds new earnings metrics to help creators track performance and qualify for payouts.

Grow Your Audience and Earnings Faster

Today, we’re launching Creator Fast Track, a new program designed to help creators accelerate their growth and success on Facebook with guaranteed pay and increased content reach. This new program comes as part of Facebook’s growing commitment to and investment in the creator economy.

We’ve heard from creators who have built followings on other platforms about how daunting it can feel to start fresh on Facebook, so we’re introducing the Creator Fast Track program to simplify and accelerate their start.

Creator Fast Track makes it easier than ever for established creators who are new to or rediscovering Facebook to grow and succeed on the platform. Creators in the program will receive increased reach on eligible reels to help speed up their follower growth and three months of guaranteed pay for sharing eligible reels on Facebook.

Creators in the program can earn $1,000 per month if they have at least 100,000 followers on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube, or $3,000 per month if they have more than one million followers on at least one of those platforms. The program also gives creators immediate access to Facebook Content Monetization, so they can earn even more and continue earning from their eligible content even after the Creator Fast Track program ends.

Learn more about eligibility requirements, see terms, and apply here.

Total Creator Payouts Reach an All-Time High

Facebook is investing more to help creators earn from what they do best: creating content their communities love. In 2025, Facebook paid content creators nearly $3 billion from its creator monetization programs — a 35% increase from the previous year and its highest annual total ever.

Creators don’t earn just from videos on Facebook. The Facebook Content Monetization program pays creators for every eligible format: short- and long-form videos (Reels), Stories, and photo and text posts. And the numbers back this up — last year, 60% of Facebook’s total payout to creators went to reels while the rest went to Stories, photos, and text posts.

The ability to monetize a variety of content formats is opening doors for creators everywhere, enabling those without large production resources to turn their creative work into a full-time career or a rewarding side hustle. The number of creators earning more than $10,000 annually on Facebook has grown by over 30% year-over-year.

    New Metrics For Success

Facebook Content Monetization pays creators based on the performance of their content. Moving forward, we’re going to put even greater emphasis on rewarding original content creators for driving deeper engagement, longer watch time, and qualified views.

To help creators better understand their earnings and explore strategies to improve their content’s performance, we’re introducing new metrics, including:

    • Qualified View: Views on your content that may be eligible to earn money
    • Earnings Rate: Approximate earnings per 1,000 qualified views
    • Non-Qualified Views: A new breakdown showing why views don’t qualify for earnings

While Facebook Content Monetization is invite-only, creators can express interest by going to their Professional Dashboard on the Facebook mobile app, selecting the Monetization tab, then Content Monetization, and completing the interest form.

    Rewarding Original Creators on Facebook

Meta reveals progress to boost original content on Facebook Feed and Reels with clearer originality guidelines and new impersonation reporting tools. The update highlights doubled original Reels views in H2 2025, growing payouts, and stronger content protection to empower creators and reduce copycats.

More Views, Higher Payouts, and Fewer Copycats

We’re committed to prioritizing original content in Facebook Feed and Reels, while reducing the reach of unoriginal content. These efforts have driven measurable impact: both views and time spent watching original Reels on Facebook approximately doubled in the second half of 2025, compared with the same period in 2024. As we invest in expanding distribution for original content across Feed and Reels, payout opportunities for original creators on Facebook continue to grow.

We’re also tackling impersonation head-on. In 2025, we removed more than 20 million accounts impersonating large content creators and impersonation reports related to large content creators dropped by 33%.

    Clearer Guidelines for Original Content

We’ve updated our content guidelines to more clearly define what kind of content is classified as original, encourage high-quality content production, and improve what is shown in recommendations. Here’s what this means in practice:

Content filmed or produced directly by a creator or owner of a Profile or Page is considered original content on Facebook.

Reels selectively incorporating third-party content (such as remixes or overlays) are considered original when the focus is an on-screen presence from a creator presenting something genuinely new — like fresh information, analysis, or substantial improvements to a storyline. Simply watching along, reacting with facial expressions, stitching multiple clips together, or narrating what’s already on screen — without adding anything meaningful — is considered unoriginal and will likely be deprioritized in Feed and Reels.

Content that is duplicative or involves minor edits to another creator’s post will be considered unoriginal and deprioritized. This includes re-uploading posts the Page or Profile had no role in creating, or making low-value changes to someone else’s content like adding borders, inserting captions, and changing the reel’s speed, among the behaviors shared here and in our help center.

When creators transform content with creativity, their videos will be eligible for recommendation in Reels and Feed, and may benefit from increased distribution. Creators who are not adding substantial creative value will see their content deprioritized, and they may see their account deemed non-recommendable and demonetized, if they continue to post primarily unoriginal content.

Creators always have the option to appeal decisions regarding originality, and we are continually working to improve the accuracy of our enforcement. Creators can learn more about our appeals process here.

    New Tools to Report Impersonation

We’re not just supporting original content on Facebook, we’re also building new tools to help creators protect their content and grow.

We launched content protection last year to automatically safeguard creators’ original Facebook reels and let them take action when matches to their reels are detected across our platforms. We’re now testing enhancements to this tool that will also detect potential impersonation and make it easy for creators to submit reports, all in one place. This new capability will be rolling out to more creators using content protection soon.

Creators can check for access to the content protection tool in their professional dashboard or apply for access here.

    Our Commitment to Creators

We’re committed to making Facebook a place where creativity is celebrated and rewarded. With clearer original content guidelines and stronger tools to protect creators’ work, it’s easier than ever for authentic voices to stand out.

Facebook Marketplace’s New Meta AI Tools Make Selling Faster and Easier

Meta unveils AI powered features for Facebook Marketplace to boost selling and discovery. Sellers can upload images to auto create drafts, fill details, and get price suggestions. Shipping is streamlined with easy label generation and order tracking. Buyers receive AI auto replies, and profiles gain AI summaries to build trust.

    Facebook Marketplace AI-powered features

Facebook Marketplace has been connecting people for a decade, helping millions buy and sell everything from home decor and vintage fashion to electronics. There are more than 3.5 million listings posted on Facebook Marketplace every single day in the US and Canada, making it a go-to destination especially for young adults who might be moving or decluttering, looking to furnish a new apartment, or finding an outfit for a first date.

Today, we’re introducing new Meta AI-powered features on Facebook Marketplace that make selling more efficient so sellers can list more items with less effort, and shoppers can find more of what they’re looking for with every search.

    List Items Faster

You can now upload your item images and let Meta AI do the rest — automatically creating a draft listing, filling in details, and even suggesting a price based on similar items listed in your area.

    Shipping, Simplified

Sellers can now reach more buyers by offering shipping on their listings. We’ve made the entire shipping experience easier to manage from start to finish — generate prepaid shipping labels in just a few clicks and use the dashboard to keep track of every shipped order in one place.

    Yes, It’s Available

Responding to buyer inquiries is now effortless with AI auto replies. When buyers ask about item availability, you can use Meta AI to draft and send an auto reply using information from your listing like a description, availability, pickup location, and price. You can enable, preview, and edit these auto replies during listing creation, making communication faster and more reliable.

    Profile Summary Using Meta AI

We’re also helping build trust and transparency with every transaction by introducing Meta AI-generated profile summaries. At the top of your Marketplace profile, buyers will now see an overview of your Facebook profile, including how long you’ve been on Facebook and your number of friends, as well as a brief summary of your Marketplace activity like your listing history, the types of items you sell, and your seller ratings.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to evolve the Facebook Marketplace experience.

Today, we’re rolling out new features on Facebook, powered by Meta AI, that let you turn photos and Feed posts into share-worthy moments that spark meaningful interactions and conversations with friends.

Now, you can bring your profile picture to life and express how you feel with animations like waving or wearing a party hat.

You can also add extra personality to your Feed posts with animated backgrounds and change the mood of your Stories and Memories with a Meta AI prompt.

Today, we’re rolling out new features on Facebook powered by Meta AI that make it easier and more fun to express yourself in your profile picture, photos, Feed posts, and Stories.

Bring Your Profile Picture to Life

You can now animate your profile picture, turning a still photo into a playful animation in seconds. Choose from preset animations — like natural, party hat, confetti, wave, and heart — to bring your profile picture to life depending on how you’re feeling. We’ll add more animation options throughout the year so you can celebrate and express yourself during seasonal moments and special events.

For the best results, we recommend using a photo that features a single person facing the camera with their face clearly visible, and not holding other objects. You can select photos to animate directly from your camera roll or choose photos you’ve already uploaded to Facebook. Once a photo is animated, you can share it to your Feed and view it on your profile.

    Restyle Your Stories and Memories

Restyle lets you transform the aesthetic of an image in Facebook Stories and Memories using preset style options or your own text-based AI prompt. We’ll also recommend Memories with Restyle options in your Stories.

After uploading a photo to Stories or viewing your Memories to share on Stories, you can tap Restyle and either use Meta AI to change things up how you want, or pick from Styles (like anime or illustrated), Moods (like glowy), Lighting (like ethereal), Colors (like cool or pink), and Backdrops (like beach or cityscape).

Share Scroll-Stopping Text Posts to Your Feed

Text posts are a great way to share what’s on your mind, and now you can match that energy visually, too. We’re gradually rolling out the ability to add an animated backdrop to your Feed text posts, making them more fun and expressive.

When you’re creating a new text post in Feed, tap the rainbow A icon to select from multiple still and animated backgrounds like falling leaves or ocean waves. We’ll also introduce seasonal backgrounds in the future so your posts can feel timely, festive, and a little more fun.

These new features make it easy to express yourself in fun and unique ways, so you can create something share-worthy to connect with your friends on Facebook.

Making it Easier to Create, Discover, and Share Content on Facebook

Facebook reveals a cleaner immersive Feed with grid posts, improved search, and streamlined navigation plus redesigned Stories and posts. Profiles surface people with shared interests and better content controls, with new feedback and moderation tools for admins.

    Takeaways

    • We’re introducing improvements to Facebook’s Feed, search, and navigation systems so you can easily find what you are looking for and dive deeper into your interests.
    • We’re streamlining how you create content in the app with a redesign of how you create Stories and Feed posts, as well as how you interact with and share them.
    • We’re also launching new ways to surface things in common with your friends directly on your profile and through search.

Facebook’s focus has always been to make it easy to stay close to the people and things you love. Today, we’re introducing improvements that help cut through the clutter so you can easily update your profile, find new content via search, and enjoy photos and videos in your Feed.

Smarter, Cleaner Feed and Streamlined Navigation

We’re making Feed simpler and more immersive, so that it’s easier to enjoy the content you care about most and connect with others over shared interests. Now when you post multiple photos, they’ll be arranged in a standardized grid. You can also like photos in Feed by double-tapping them, and see Feed content in full screen when you click into it.

Soon, the most-used Facebook features on your tab bar – like Reels, Friends, Marketplace, and Profile – will be front-and-center in your tab bar, so you can easily access them. You’ll also see a refreshed menu design and cleaner tab notifications to catch up on the latest updates across Facebook.

In addition, your search results will now show more content in a more immersive grid layout that supports all content types. We’re testing a new full-screen viewer that lets you explore different photo and video results without losing your place in search. We’ll look to expand this feature to more content and post types in the coming months.

We also want you to shape your Feed in the ways you want. You can give feedback as to why you don’t like a certain Facebook post or Reel so that the content you see moving forward is more relevant. We will continue to introduce new ways for you to shape your Feed and provide your algorithm feedback in the coming months.

    Simplified Content Creation

We redesigned the way you can create Stories and Feed posts to make them more intuitive by putting the most popular tools like adding music and tagging friends where you can easily find them. The new interfaces make it easier to create great content with minimal distractions, and the advanced tools like colorful text backgrounds are still just a tap away. Audience and cross-posting settings are prominently displayed in the composer, making them easy to locate and adjust.

The commenting experience across Feed, Groups, and Reels has also been simplified with streamlined replies, prominent badging, and new pinning tools, so conversations are easier to follow. New and expanded controls will also help group admins and creators monitor the conversations happening on their content, and everyone can now anonymously flag comments that are irrelevant or don’t fit the spirit of the conversation.

    Profiles Made for Real Connections

We’re also making it easier to find people with similar interests. When you update your profile, Facebook will help you discover friends who share your passions or who may have useful advice on shared interests by surfacing them within your profile.

For example, if you update your profile to show you’re into sourdough bread baking or planning a trip to Nashville, Facebook will show you friends who can give you sourdough starter tips or offer suggestions on the best local spots.

With this updated experience, people can get to know others on a deeper level — from where you work and live, to what TV shows you’re binging and what album you’re playing on repeat, to your hobbies, travel, and more. You can choose who sees what on your profile and whether to share these updates to your Feed.

These improvements are just the beginning in making Facebook less cluttered and easier to use, so you can focus on the people and interests you care the most about. Stay tuned for more updates in 2026!

Making it Easier to Access Account Support on Facebook and Instagram

Meta launches a centralized 24/7 account support hub on Facebook and Instagram with AI help and faster recovery. AI security upgrades cut hacks globally and boost recovery success in the US and Canada, with adaptive flows rolling out on iOS and Android.

    Takeaways

    • We’re making it easier to access 24/7 account support on Facebook and Instagram with new tools like a centralized support hub.
    • In the past year, new account hacks decreased by more than 30% globally on Facebook and Instagram, and recovering an account is now faster and simpler with the help of AI — the relative success rate of hacked account recovery has increased by more than 30% in the US and Canada this year.
    • We’ve also improved how to recover your account if you ever lose access with smarter, adaptive processes.

Your accounts are where your memories, conversations, and connections live. Protecting them is a responsibility we take seriously, which is why we’re always working to strengthen account security and make it easier for you to get the help you need. We also recognize that support hasn’t always met expectations, and we’re committed to improving by continually investing in better support experiences for everyone who uses our apps.

Today, we’re rolling out new, easier ways to get account support and sharing updates we’ve made to keep your Facebook and Instagram accounts even more secure through advancements in AI.

    The Future of Always-On Support

Getting help with your account should be simple and accessible. That’s why we’re launching a new, centralized hub on Facebook and Instagram that brings support tools and options into one place. Within the support hub, you can now report an account issue, find quick answers with the help of Meta AI-powered search, and more. This is now rolling out globally on Facebook and Instagram, on iOS and Android operating systems.

We’re also testing an AI support assistant for instant, personalized help — whether you need to recover your account, update settings or manage your profile. This is new technology that we’re testing first on Facebook globally, and we’re exploring bringing it to our other apps in the future.

How AI Is Helping Us Protect Your Account

Our AI-powered security systems are getting better at protecting your account thanks to smarter AI and stronger security tools. In the past year, new account hacks decreased by more than 30% globally on Facebook and Instagram. Our account security systems work around the clock to spot and block potential threats — like hacking and phishing — by analyzing a wide range of signals in real time to distinguish legitimate users from attackers. These systems also block suspicious logins and flag compromised accounts before harm occurs, so you stay protected and can access your account without worry.

Over the last year, our advancements in AI have also helped us increasingly avoid disabling accounts by mistake better than ever before. And if an error does happen, our appeals process is now faster and easier, with fewer steps and AI assistance for eligible cases that helps you get a decision sooner. Our ongoing investments in our content enforcement systems mean they’re now more accurate — so you’re less likely to be affected by mistakes, and our community stays safer and more reliable for everyone.

    Faster, Simpler Account Recovery

If you lose access to your account, getting back in should be quick and stress-free. We’ve updated the account recovery experience on Facebook and Instagram using AI so you can get help gaining access to your account.

    What’s new:

    • Easier-to-find recovery: You’ll now see the right recovery options at the right times, and we’re sending out improved SMS and email alerts about risky activity. If you still need help regaining access to your account, you can always visit this page to recover your account or Page.
    • Trusted device recognition: Our systems recognize the device you usually use and familiar locations better than ever.
    • Smarter, adaptive recovery flows: Our new account recovery experience adjusts to your particular situation with clearer guidance and simpler verification. We’ve also expanded recovery methods to include taking an optional selfie video to further verify your identity.

These improvements are already making a difference. This year, we’ve increased the relative success rate of hacked account recovery by more than 30% in the US and Canada.

    Simple Steps to Stay Secure

While our AI systems work behind the scenes, we’ve launched even more safety features so you can take additional steps to protect your account:

    • Security Checkup: Use the newly redesigned Security Checkup on Facebook to spot and fix potential security risks. You can also use this feature on Instagram.
    • Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Set up 2FA on Facebook or Instagram, which requires a password and a simple code from your phone or an authenticator app to log in to your accounts.
    • Passkeys: Sign in with your fingerprint, face, or device PIN for even stronger protection through passkeys, which we rolled out earlier this year on Facebook and Messenger.

We’re committed to keeping your accounts safe and making support simple so you can focus on what matters most: connecting with your communities. Stay tuned for more recovery and support tools coming in 2026.

Facebook Marketplace Gets a Glow Up

Facebook Marketplace gets a glow up with AI insights, collections, collaborative buying, and reactions to tailor your shopping. New car insights and AI questions help you ask the right things, plus expanded partner listings from eBay and Poshmark. Improved checkout shows total costs upfront.

Facebook Marketplace is having a glow up — we’re evolving the Marketplace experience with new ways to connect over listings and Meta AI integrations that make it easier for people to shop for the things we know they want most: home decor, fashion, and vehicles.

Every day, one out of four Facebook young adult daily active users in the US and Canada come to Marketplace, and we’re making it easier for them to find what they’re looking for. Whether finding and furnishing their first apartment, buying their first car, or looking for a perfect first-date outfit, our newest updates will help make their Marketplace experience even more fun, useful, and social.

Shop Together With Collections and Collaborative Buying

We’re launching collections, a new feature that enables you to create groups of Marketplace listings and invite friends to join. Simply save a listing, start a new collection, and choose whether to make it public or private. Add friends to your collection and share updates via Feed, Messenger, WhatsApp, and more.

We’re also testing collaborative buying, so you can invite a friend to join your chat with the seller, making it easier to coordinate pickup, negotiate prices, and get answers to your questions — together.

Personalize Your Shopping With Reactions and Comments

You can now react and comment directly on Marketplace listings, helping others learn about item quality and discover unique finds. And when you like an item, Marketplace will learn what you’re interested in, so you’ll see more items aligned with your preferences, making your shopping experience even more personalized and relevant.

    Shop Smarter With AI Insights

We’re also testing a new feature to make it easier to ask the right questions when you’re making a purchase — whether it’s a car, furniture, clothing, or anything you find on Marketplace. When you start a chat with a seller, you’ll see a “Suggested questions to ask” button pop up. Tap it, and Meta AI will use the details from the listing and your conversation to suggest questions you might want to ask the seller.

Vehicles are among the top five searches for young adults on Marketplace. That’s why we’re beginning to test a new AI-powered feature designed to make buying cars easier and more informative. When you visit a vehicle listing, you’ll see AI-powered insights that can gather everything from engine options and safety ratings to transmission type, seating, cargo capacity, reviews, and price insights — all in one place.

Expanded Inventory With eBay and Poshmark

Young adults are increasingly turning to Marketplace for vintage fashion — there are over 200 million fashion items listed on Facebook Marketplace in the US, making it the second largest category after home decor.

Earlier this year, we began integrating eBay inventory into Marketplace followed by Poshmark to give people more options across categories like fashion and electronics. Partner listings are marked with an icon on the listing image, and are integrated throughout your Marketplace feed so you’ll see them while you’re browsing. You can also see the listing and seller’s information on the Marketplace product details page, and when you’re ready to buy, you’ll be taken to the partner’s site for checkout.

    Improved Shipping Experience

We’re rolling out an improved checkout experience, providing you with a more transparent and seamless process for shipped purchases. Buyers will now see total costs — including shipping and tax — upfront, and receive notifications as order status changes.

This ensures clarity at every step and makes it easier to buy from sellers no matter their locations.

Stay tuned for more updates in 2026 as we continue to improve the Facebook Marketplace experience for both buyers and sellers.

New Facebook Update Gives Group Admins More Flexibility While Protecting Member Privacy

Facebook rolls out a feature letting private groups switch to public, boosting discovery while keeping older content private. Admins get a 3‑day review window and notifications; members see privacy indicators as posts go public. This is a real product update enabling broader conversations.

Facebook Groups: Converting Private to Public

Facebook Groups have long been a place where people connect over shared interests and experiences. People turn to groups to seek advice, connect with real people, and navigate life’s milestones. Whether it’s joining a city newcomers’ meet-up, finding a local running club, or connecting over your favorite artist, groups make these interactions easier.

We know that group admins want more tools to grow and manage their communities, and we’re listening to your feedback. Today, we’re starting to roll out a new update that gives private group admins the option to change a group from private to public. This unlocks new opportunities for growth and connection while keeping member privacy and previously shared content protected.

For Admins: How to Convert a Private Group to Public

Group admins can now make their private groups public, making it easier for people to discover and join conversations that matter to them. This change can be made directly from the group’s settings page on Facebook. Converting to public means the group’s new content will be visible to everyone, so before making any changes, consider what’s best for your community and seek feedback from fellow admins, moderators, and members. Once you have converted your group, keep members informed by sharing a post about the update.

Here’s what to expect if you choose to convert your group:

    • All other admins will be notified. When a group admin changes their private group’s privacy setting to public, all other admins of the group will get a notification about the upcoming change.
    • You’ll have time to review the change. There is a three-day window to review and cancel the group conversion; if no admin cancels, the group will become public at the end of the review window.

For more details about converting groups, visit the help center here.

For Group Members: How We’re Protecting Your Privacy and Content

Your privacy is our priority. That’s why we’ve built in safeguards for members of groups. Here are some of the ways we’re protecting your privacy, and some information for group members to keep in mind:

    • Past content stays private. All content, including posts, comments, and reactions, shared while the group was private will only be visible to those who were members of the group before it became public, as well as admins and moderators.
    • Member lists are protected. After a group goes public, only admins and moderators can see the member list, protecting the privacy of group members.
    • New content is public. Any new posts you share in the public group, including comments and reactions on new content, will be visible to anyone, including people who aren’t on Facebook. This has always been the case for public groups, allowing you to reach a broader audience and connect with new people beyond the original group.
    • You’ll be notified. When a group changes from private to public, all members are notified about the change. Plus, when posting or commenting for the first time in a converted public group, you’ll see a reminder that your post or comment will be public, helping you share with confidence.
    • You can check your privacy status any time. You’ll also see a globe icon when posting in a public group. This icon means your content will be visible to anyone.
    • Groups can be made private again. If a public group changes back to private, only people approved by an admin can join. Once someone is approved by an admin, they’ll be able to see what’s shared in the group, including content from when it was previously private, and the membership list. This is how private groups work today, so your privacy stays protected.

Remember, if anonymous participation is enabled in your group, you have the flexibility to decide how you want to show up — choose to post or comment using your name, anonymously, or now, with a new option to choose a nickname that matches you in the moment.

Today’s update helps admins to grow their groups, foster deeper connections, and spark more conversations across shared interests. Learn more about the differences between private and public groups here.

New Facebook Feature Suggests Edits and Collages to Share

Facebook rolls out an opt-in AI feature that surfaces your photos and videos to create collages and edits for easy sharing on Feed, Stories, and Memories. Suggestions stay private until you choose to share and can be turned off anytime; rollout starts in the US and Canada with plans to expand.

    Takeaways

    • We’re introducing a new Facebook feature that surfaces photos and videos and suggests fun edits and collages, making it easier to share your favorite moments.
    • Suggestions are only shown to you – you decide whether they’re shared and with whom.
    • This feature requires opting-in and can be turned off at any time.

We’ve rolled out a new Facebook feature designed to make reminiscing and sharing your favorite moments easier and more fun than ever before. This opt-in feature suggests the best photos and videos from your camera roll and creates fun collages and edits, making it simple to share unique content on Facebook and Messenger.

    Creative and Effortless Sharing

Many people capture life’s moments but rarely share them – whether it’s because they don’t think their photos or videos are ‘shareworthy,’ or because they simply don’t have time to create something special. With your permission and the help of AI, our new feature enables Facebook to automatically surface hidden gems – those memorable moments that get lost among screenshots, receipts, and random snaps – and edit them to save or share.

This new feature enhances your best photos, offers creative edits to make your content stand out, and creates fun collages and videos to help you connect with the friends and family you choose to share with. No design skills required – this feature does the heavy lifting, so you can focus on sharing the fun. All suggestions are private to you and you decide what to share, when to share, and with whom.

We don’t use media from your camera roll to improve AI at Meta, unless you choose to edit this media with our AI tools, or share. Head to the Meta Privacy Policy to learn more.

We’ve now rolled out the option to use this feature to people in the US and Canada. Sharing recommendations currently appear in Stories and Feed, and you can always find more ready-to-share content in Memories (a Facebook bookmark). You can manage or disable the feature anytime in your Facebook camera roll settings.

We will also begin to test in additional countries in the coming months.
