Copy and share document contents as an image

Select content on the board to create an image that can be shared via external tools. Learn more.

Default auto growing text boxes

When adding text in Lucidchart, the default text box will grow with text sizing. Learn more.

Zoom and pan from print window

Zoom or pan the view from the print window when printing or exporting a document. Learn more.

More options in comment panel

The three-dot button now allows you to delete or copy a link to a comment, in addition to the existing "resolve" option, increasing flexibility when determining how to handle comments. Learn more.

We are thrilled to share a new tool for our MCP server & Claude, the ability to convert Claude-generated diagrams directly into Lucid documents!

Overview

Claude allows teams to brainstorm complex systems through inline SVG diagrams, but these visuals were previously limited to static code or screenshots. With this latest update you can now ask Claude to take those generated visuals and instantly transform them into interactive, and editable Lucid diagrams. This feature ensures that your visual assets remain as agile as your text prompts. You focus on the architecture, let Claude and Lucid handle the drawing.

How it works

After creating a diagram with Claude simply prompt: "Convert this generated diagram into a Lucid document." Claude will securely interface with Lucid to create the diagram so you can further customize and edit your diagram.

Assisted layout helps to arrange content within Lucid organizers- including swimlanes , frames and all container types. This feature automatically aligns shapes to create a clean, presentable workspace. Assisted layout is also available with AI-generated content, making brainstorming and board organization easy and efficient.

What’s new this Lately @ Lucid? Let’s take a look at some of the newest assisted layout features!

Resizable containers

You can now manually resize assisted layout containers and frames to make more room for your workflows and ideas. You can choose between Fit or Manual in the assisted layout menu. By default, assisted layout containers are set to Manual , allowing you the flexibility to expand the size and shape of your frame. Switching to Fit will automatically resize your container as you add or remove shapes.

Added white space

Assisted layout now supports introducing intentional white space onto your canvas to help structure your content visually. For example,

Cloud frames

Cloud frames are Smart Containers that live on the Lucidchart canvas and automatically generate visualizations from imported cloud data using rule-based viz, which maintains structure, filters, and layout rules to keep diagrams accurate and data-backed in a unified workflow that combines free-form documentation with live-synced infrastructure. Edit document data filter

Users can now refine, adjust, and update data filters directly within an existing Lucidscale document—no re-importing required.

Sequential approval flows

Repository owners can choose to enable a bottom-up sequential approval flow (process owner, sub-folder owner, folder owner, repository owner) to automate handoffs and ensure the right stakeholders review content in a specific order. Learn more.

Custom item links types

Define your own link types in team settings to map relationships between items the way your team thinks about them—beyond the defaults like Blocks, Duplicates, and Relates to.

This is especially helpful for users who have custom link types in their Jira instance—they can now create those same link types on the airfocus side rather than mapping to the default three link types. To learn more about creating custom item links, visit our Help Center article.

Map the airfocus Milestone field to Jira Fix Versions. We’ve introduced two new mapping options to support different workflows:

• Fix Version (most recent) → Milestone (single select): A one-way mapping that ensures you don’t overwrite external data with incomplete information
• Fix Version ↔ Milestone (multi-select): A full two-way mapping for bidirectional synchronization

Repository owners can now switch their repository between restricted and unrestricted at any time, allowing for increased flexibility in accelerator setup and iteration. Learn more.

Unarchive assets

Approval flows for object assets

Suggest edits to object assets and have those changes routed through approval flows. View changes side by side to see exactly what metadata has been modified before approving or rejecting.

Change summaries

Each published version of a repository document now includes a summary of the changes made. This change summary gives repository viewers the ability to quickly understand what changed and why, building trust and saving time in reviews and audits. Learn more.

Folder owners

Repository owners can optionally assign folder owners to ensure content is routed to the right stakeholder for approvals. Folder owners can approve documents within their folder, archive, delete, or rename folders and documents within their ownership, and add other folder and sub-folder owners. Learn more.

Direct publish

Repository and process owners will be able to directly publish edits to documents they own, streamlining repository setup and approvals. Learn more.

Intelligent doc suggestions

Removed limits on scheduled update and model auto-sync

Previously, scheduled update and model auto-sync were both limited to 75 data sources and models, respectively. Those limits have been removed, and all data sources and models will be eligible for schedules and auto-synching.

Linear integration improvements

Start date is now mappable to and from airfocus in our Linear integration. Additionally, you can now map start date and target date to a date range field in airfocus. This unlocks Timeline and Gantt views for users without the manual effort previously required.

Quickly focus on the bigger picture as you collapse and expand your diagrams in Lucid. Similar to minimizing a window on your desktop, the work doesn't go away; it’s just neatly tucked into a single container so you can zoom out or zoom in on necessary details. This feature is compatible with basic container types like Frames, rectangle, rounded rectangle, pill, circle and spark containers, as well as containers with assisted layout. Nudging

Enable nudging in your document or board settings to prevent object overlap when you manually expand a container with assisted layout applied. Learn more.

Assisted layout enhancements

Effortlessly organize content using assisted layout. You can span an object, Frame, Container, or swimlane over multiple cells in an assisted layout grid or hold Cmd/Cntrl to activate spacing handles on any currently nested Containers to have them span.
