Comet, Now Available for Everyone

The Comet browser is now available to download for everyone in the world for free at perplexity.ai/comet. In the past three months millions have joined the Comet waitlist looking for a powerful personal AI assistant and new ways to use the internet. Now, you can see for yourself how the internet is better on Comet.

Background Assistants

What’s better than an AI assistant that helps your achieve your tasks? The answer: multiple assistants carrying out work for you at the same time. With Comet, Max subscribers can now launch many agentic tasks in parallel and manage confirmations and follow ups in a single page. Look for the Background Assistants page in Comet to get started.

Slack Connector

You can now connect Perplexity to Slack. Get answers from and send messages to your Slack workspace, all directly within Perplexity. Go to your Connectors page to enable the Slack connector. Enterprise administrators can configure connector access for their organization on the Permissions page.

Claude Sonnet 4.5 and 4.5 Thinking

These new models from Anthropic are now available for Perplexity Pro and Max subscribers across Web, iOS, and Android and excel at agentic reasoning and complex coding tasks. Toggle thinking mode on and off via a new “With reasoning” control on Web.

Maps for Places Search

Looking for a restaurant, hotel, or travel destination? You’ll now see them on a map across Web and iOS, making local search and discovery more immersive. When combined with informed, visual answers for places, there’s never been a better way to research your next destination.

Currency Conversion

Get realtime conversion rates for international currencies, cryptocurrencies, and even gold and silver directly in Perplexity answers. Try searching “what’s $100 in jpy”, “BTC to AUD”, or “convert gold to dollars” to see it in action. Now available on web and iOS; coming soon to Android.

Discover Search

Search the latest news and stories on any subject with Discover. Whether it’s recent IPO updates for a certain company, information on scientific breakthroughs in a particular niche, or real estate prices local to your area, you can now search for the unique news topics that matter most to you directly within Discover. Now available on iOS.

Study Mode

Study Mode is now available to everyone using Perplexity. When you want to learn something step-by-step, you can now:

• Learn through conversation rather than getting an instant answer (try: “Explain photosynthesis to me step-by-step”)
• Get answers tailored to your level of knowledge
• Generate interactive flashcards and quizzes (try: “Make me a quiz about Comets”)

Perplexity Email Assistant

Max subscribers can now save an hour a day on their email inbox and calendar using Perplexity Email Assistant. Email Assistant slots cleanly into existing email workflows and performs the following actions:

Scheduling

Schedule meetings with ease by adding [email protected] into any email chain. No more back and forth - the assistant can handle different time zones, in-person meetings, rescheduling and more with ease.

Organizing

Cut through the noise faster. Email Assistant automatically labels your inbox to help you stay organized and focus on the emails that require your attention.

Drafting

Email Assistant drafts send-ready replies to emails you need to respond to on your behalf using your voice, tone, and relevant context from your inbox.

Language Learning

Learn how to say words and phrases in any language with the help of our new full-screen language learning experience. Flip through flash cards with audio, pronunciation, and words shown in the context of common sentences. Now available on web with mobile coming soon. Get started with searches like phrases I should learn for my trip to japan.

Stock Indicators on Discover

See real-time stock movements directly in Discover pages on iOS (coming soon to other platforms). Tap on a ticker symbol to see a quick stock chart and key financial indictors, or deep dive on the stock in Perplexity Finance.

Image Model Selection on iOS

Last week we announced the addition of two new image generation models: Nano Banana (Google’s Gemini 2.5 Flash image model) and Seedream 4 (from Bytedance). This week we’ve added the image generation model selector to iOS in addition to Web (coming soon to Android). Navigate to Settings > Image generation model to select your default model.

New App Connectors

New app connectors include:

• Email and calendar apps: Connect Gmail, Gcal, and Outlook to search across your email and calendar events. With the Gmail and Gcal connectors, you can also send emails and create calendar invites directly within Perplexity. For example: “Prep me for my meetings tomorrow and share the profiles and context of the people I’m meeting with.”
• Knowledge base and project management apps: Connect Notion, Linear, and GitHub to search across those tools as well as create and update documents, tickets, and PRs. For example: “Convert my Notion doc ‘September Launch’ into a Linear project with tickets, and assign them.”

This week’s launch builds on our existing file integrations with Google Drive, SharePoint, OneDrive, Dropbox, and Box, available to Enterprise Pro and Max subscribers.

Go to your Connectors page to enable the connectors. (Enterprise administrators can configure connector access for their organization on the Permissions page.)

Enhanced Memory

Answers will feel more relevant and personalized to you as Perplexity becomes more adept at distilling your previous searches into topics you're interested in. Signed-in users across web, iOS, and Android now benefit from enhanced memory that will improve relevance for answers where cross-thread context is important, such as tailoring vacation ideas to your interests. The more you use Perplexity, the better answers will become. All controllable via settings.

New Image Generation Models

Generate images with Nano Banana (Google’s Gemini 2.5 Flash image model) and Seedream 4 (from Bytedance), both now available in the image generation model selector for Pro and Max subscribers. Navigate to Settings > Preferences on Web to customize your default model choice, or let Perplexity pick the best model for you. (The settings menu is coming soon to iOS and Android.)

Laver Cup on Perplexity Sports

Follow this weekend’s Laver Cup tennis tournament at pplx.ai/lavercup or search “laver cup” on Perplexity where you can see rosters for Team Europe and Team World, follow live scores, and follow the tournament schedule and news.

Enterprise Max

This week we announced Enterprise Max, Perplexity’s most powerful subscription tier yet. It offers the most comprehensive selection of frontier models, expanded research and generation capabilities, advanced browsing skills, and more. Benefits of Enterprise Max over Pro:

Perplexity Finance on mobile

Perplexity Finance is now available in the Perplexity app on iOS and Android. Start by typing “finance” to see a shortcut to the Perplexity Finance homepage, where you’ll find the full suite of feature availability from the desktop experience.

Hotel Loyalty Support

Hotel bookings on Perplexity now support loyalty programs. Travelers can add their loyalty number at checkout to unlock rewards, earn points, and maximize the value of every stay.

Streamlined PDFs

Creating and viewing PDFs with Perplexity is now even easier. In both Labs and Research modes you can simply ask for a PDF in your prompt and get a file in return. Click on the file to view it in a sidebar and to download it.

All students worldwide now get early access to Comet. Ask Comet to manage your schedule, order textbooks, or prepare for exams with Study Mode.

Study Mode

Students can now learn on Perplexity with Study Mode. Study Mode takes Perplexity’s Search and supercharges it for active learning. Instead of just answering a question, Study Mode explains the underlying concept in detail, breaking it down step-by-step.

• Get answers tailored to your level of knowledge
• Generate custom study materials, such as interactive flashcards and quizzes. Learn how to verify your student status here.

Comet Shortcuts

Comet users can now create shortcuts for repetitive, multi-step tasks, frequent searches, or time-consuming prompts. Just type "/" to set one up, or pick from a library of pre-loaded shortcuts.

AI Enhancements

A more capable Voice Assistant

Comet users can now control the browser with their voice, speaking instructions that the browser then acts upon. And across all platforms, Perplexity voice mode now features improved noise cancellation, more natural voices, and better accuracy with gpt-realtime, Open AI’s latest realtime model.

Improved Context Handling

Perplexity is now better at inferring context from prior queries within a thread, even across longer conversations. For example, when asking about a source cited in a previous query, it will recognize the reference and provide a contextual, relevant answer.

GPT-5 Thinking

Now available for Pro and Max Subscribers to use across all platforms when advanced reasoning is required. Choose it from the model selector in the input box to get started.

Perplexity Finance

Analyzing stocks and markets on Perplexity keeps getting better. We’ve added comparison graphs and consensus estimates for key financials, and extended our earnings hub and stock screener tools to cover Indian stocks.

• Add other assets to compare in the price history chart, now available from any asset page.
• Consensus analyst estimates
• US stock pages now include consensus estimates from equity research analysts.
• Tools for Indian stocks
• The earnings hub and stock screener are now both available for Indian markets.

Perplexity Finance in India

Across desktop, mobile web, and mobile apps, all Perplexity users now have access to Indian market data on Perplexity Finance. Features available now include:

• Synthesis of Indian markets & latest news
• Live stock prices for BSE & NSE equities, including on queries like "reliance stock"
• Bull case & bear case across key issues
• Explanations of notable price movement
• Historical data downloads
• Financials (including Excel model downloads)
• Live earnings (some BSE & NSE equities supported, more coming in the next few days).

Users in India will be defaulted to a view of Indian markets, but anyone can use this toggle to switch markets

More features are coming soon for Indian markets, like natural-language stock screening and price alerts.

Video Generation

Bring your ideas to life with video generation. Pro and Max users can now create 8 second videos with audio on web, iOS and Android, unlocking a powerful new tool for ideation and productivity.

Ideation. Combined with Labs, video generation can help you explore and visualize divergent creative directions, then package them as a mini-site to share with others. (Example: 3 brand concepts for a new cold brew product)

Productivity

Transform an uploaded photo into an immersive video, then use Comet Assistant to post it to social media or for you. (Example: Make a property flyover video and post it to LinkedIn)

Video generation currently utilizes the Veo 3 (for Max) and Veo 3 Fast (for Pro) models by default. Max and Pro subscribers start with 15 and 5 video generation credits each month, respectively. More to come next week! Stay curious.
