Projects are encrypted AI workspaces where you can keep all files and chats for a project in one place, along with specific instructions for the project. Lumo remembers all conversations and files associated with the project so you don’t have to repeat instructions or re-explain things. Lumo can immediately pick up where you left off because it remembers all the context.

You can create a Project for just about anything and set tailored custom instructions. Maybe you manage multiple clients or cases, and want Lumo to know something different about each of them. Lumo will remember the background, preferred tone, and focus areas across every conversation in that Project.

Keep your data organized and private

Each Project is its own encrypted environment, giving you a clear home for specific areas or workstreams. You can upload files and resources that are important to that project, helping Lumo provide more relevant and accurate responses when analyzing documents or summing up insights.

Projects are integrated with Proton Drive, making it easy to link relevant folder and files to each space while giving you peace of mind that every file is only accessible to you. Lumo never uses your data to train AI models, and your chat histories are zero-access encrypted.

Since we don’t keep a record of your chats, we also can’t share them with any third parties or leak them.

Everything you say to Lumo, whether it’s your intellectual property or information about your clients, is entirely under your control and only accessible to you.

Stay compliant, and protected by European privacy law

Because Lumo is hosted entirely in Europe, your data benefits from some of the world’s strongest privacy protections. Lumo is also GDPR compliant by design, so we are legally prevented from abusing your data. By contrast, US-based AI services retain logs for their own use and can be compelled to hand over chats to the government. If AI is not based in a privacy-friendly jurisdiction, it is not truly confidential. The primary owner of Lumo is the nonprofit Proton Foundation based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Dark mode has been one of our community’s most highly anticipated updates for Lumo. Throughout the Proton ecosystem, you can customize the look of all of your apps, and now you can customize Lumo, too, with a light or dark theme.

Customize Lumo’s writing style

Lumo already lets you integrate Proton Drive so that it’s easy to add or remove documents and PDFs from Lumo’s working memory. That’s a powerful way to give Lumo more context for your chats and get better results.

To personalize Lumo further, you can now specify your preferred writing style, tell Lumo your name, and share any other instructions you’d like Lumo to keep top of mind. Getting the answers you need in the way you want them helps you work faster and more seamlessly.

Finding the perfect voice for Lumo makes it easier to find the words you’re looking for, whether you’re writing a casual email or a formal research proposal.
