Improvements
- Improved support for Intel’s Performance Hybrid Architecture on Windows
- Browser defaults to Side Panel in new songs (applicable for new users with no stored preference file)
- Speakers/Headphones Output has higher priority as default audio interface than Built-In Microphone in + Speakers/Headphones Output—this is to avoid feedback. This applies to Mac users only.
- Reason icon is now fully compatible with the new look offered in macOS 26 (Tahoe)
Bugs fixed
Browser
- Fixed an issue where the sample browser in some situations didn’t default to open from the last opened location
- Fixed a bug where the browser didn’t properly handle saving/restoring sample slot browser states when cancelling browsing
- Side Panel Browser will now remember any selection and search text when closed/opened

- Fixed an issue where Rack Extension content could disappear from the Browser index when running Reason continuously for more than a week

- Rack Extensions may now support auto-routing of CV outputs for note/gate, pitch wheel, and mod wheel. This works if such routing targets are defined by the device (CV outputs with specific signal types and auto route option enabled by the developer)
- Fixed a graphics glitch introduced in Reason 13.4 on Windows version that could occur when hovering around the "Browse Patch" button on certain devices

Reason 13.3.2 Release Notes
Reason adds a newer graphics engine, a refreshed macOS Tahoe icon, smarter browser sample loading, saved area splitter positions, and a search error alert, while also fixing multiple plugin, browser, audio file, text rendering, and sync crashes across major DAWs.
- Updated Reason's graphics engine to a newer version
- Updated application icon for macOS Tahoe
- Fixed an issue where Ripley’s feedback Limiter button function was reversed
- Reason now remembers area splitter positions between the main areas (Mixer, Rack, Sequencer)
- Browser: When selecting 'Browse Samples' for an empty slot, the browser will start where you last loaded a sample. For example, if you load a kick sample for one Redrum slot and then move on to load a snare in the next slot, the browser will stay in the same location.
- This change does not affect slots that already has a sample loaded.
- This change does not affect loading samples from focusless browser or by drag and drop.
- This also works for 'Browse REX Loop' and 'Browse Drum Patch' (Kong)
- Fixed several crashes with Reason Rack Plugin in Logic 11.2.x on Intel Macs running macOS Sequoia
- Fixed an issue where Reason Rack Plugin could crash Logic Pro on macOS Tahoe
- Fixed an issue where the Browser Indexer would be slow to Quit. This was more evident if there were lots of files in a folder, and as a consequence Reason became unresponsive

Reason 13.3.1 Release Notes
Reason fixes a range of stability, browser, and workflow issues, including slow device dragging, memory staying resident after quitting on Windows, unnecessary ReFills rescans, graphics glitches, and a crash when joining audio clips.
Bugs fixed
- Fixed an issue where dragging devices from the Device window could be very slow
- Reason stayed resident in memory after quitting (Windows). This was related to the indexer getting stuck in an endless loop if it could no longer connect to network drives or external hard drives, which had disconnected
- Fixed an issue where ReFills were needlessly rescanned. When having reconnected an external drive, it would be completely deep-rescanned (including ReFills) even if it has previously been connected. This could take a lot of time
- Fixed a graphics bug which occurred when moving a Browser window during ‘text input focus’
- Detach Browser button was masked by text when Browser was resized small
- Some samples from ReFills showed a strange length in Browser
- Folded Players were not displayed in the rack when clicking on their sequencer lane
- Locations headings got cutoff when docked Browser was resized smaller

Reason 13.3.0 Release Notes
Reason adds a Browser side panel, smoother browse focus behavior, and a refreshed look across dialogs, preferences, and waveforms. It also improves area button navigation, updates Rack Plugin browser options, and adds Remote support for Allen & Heath Xone:K2.
Features added
The Browser can now be used as a side panel together with changes and improvements to the Browser logic
- New option to show the Browser as a side panel on the left side in Reason and Reason Rack Plugin.
- The Browser as a side panel and the Device Palette are exclusive—showing one will hide the other. However, you can still see the Device Palette and the Browser as a window at the same time, just as in Reason 13.
- In Reason Rack Plugin, the “Open with Device Palette shown” setting is now a three-choice dropdown called “Open with side panel showing:” (Device Palette/Browser/Off).
- There is a new preference setting for default behavior (Browser as window or side panel), that is applied when you create a new song or open an older song (i.e. a song without this setting stored).
- In focus-less mode, the Browser no longer closes automatically when clicking Create/Import. To close, use the Browser button in the top panel, the F9 key, or the X button in the corner of the browser window. This allows you to keep the browser open while working.
- When using the Browser as a side panel in browse focus mode (Browse Patches, Create Instrument, etc.), clicking OK or Cancel will return to whatever was shown in the side panel when you entered browse focus (Device Palette, Browser in focus-less mode, or no side panel shown).
- When you exit browse focus by clicking OK (or by double clicking or pressing Return), the browser view will now stay in the last location and maintain any applied filters.
- When the Browser is a side panel, it can be resized by dragging. In narrow mode, the Locations column shows tool tips to help with navigation.
- When the "Load default sound in new devices" setting is selected in the Preferences, there is now the option to also start browsing in the folder of the default sound rather than all compatible patches All Locations.
New, better looking waveform drawing in:
- Sequencer
- Sample editor
- Sampling window
Visual refresh
- Most dialogs and windows have changed from a native OS look to a unified Reason look. This does not only look more at home in Reason, it also means things looks the same on Mac and Windows.
- Texts and colors have been updated for a more unified look
Preferences overhaul
Reason’s Preferences have also been updated with a more intuitive layout and matching look
Sections are now to the left with the option to move between tabs with the up/down arrow keys
The previous "General" page is now split into "User Interface" and "Browsing" tabs
Some settings have been moved and in some cases renamed for better clarity
The "Show Cable Animation" setting has been removed. This is now always on, just like in Reason Rack Plugin.
◦ Fun fact: turning off cable animation was a CPU saving measure all the way back in Reason 1. Computer power have come a long way since!
Area buttons (Mixer/Sequencer/Rack)
- The area buttons now work more like the corresponding F-keys: clicking a button switches to that area.
- To add an area to your view rather than switch, you can Shift-click the buttons. You can of course also still drag the splitters or use combination presses of F5, F6, and F7.
