Make smarter decisions with proactive insights. Inspector, an Agentforce skill from Tableau Next, proactively monitors the key metrics you care about and gives you alerts and actionable insights when critical thresholds are met, ensuring you're always informed and ready to act. Available in Beta.

Tableau Next Slack Enhancements

Make conversations with your team more productive. Ask natural language questions about your data, get instant, accurate answers from Agentforce, and share responses across Slack channels and DMs directly within Slack. Whether you’re in Tableau Next or Slack, you can monitor and respond to related threads about your metrics so you can keep stakeholders aligned from a single view. Generally available in Tableau Next.

Tableau Next Visualizations

Get a better view of your data. Use reference lines to ground your visualizations and reveal critical patterns or identify outliers quickly. Interact with your visualizations further. Test experimental values to understand how it impacts the business, such as deal size on total forecast. Generally available in Tableau Next.

Tableau Pulse: Time-Based Forecasting

See where your metrics are headed with time-based forecasting. Analyze historical trends to project future performance for partial periods, such as year-to-date or month-to-date, providing business users with a fast, intuitive understanding of a metric's expected value at a certain time. Generally available in Tableau+ edition of Tableau Cloud.

Tableau Pulse: New Enhanced Q&A Updates

Dig into your insights even faster with updates to Enhanced Q&A. Launch conversational AI from new entry points such as the Homepage or Insight Exploration page. You’ll also gain clarity around your insights with improved text formatting for more organized outputs. Generally available in Tableau+ edition of Tableau Cloud.

Tableau Pulse: Correlated Metrics Insights

Get even deeper insights in Tableau Pulse with a new insight type. Correlated Metrics helps you find significant relationships between metrics by identifying key correlations in your data. Generally available in Tableau+ edition of Tableau Cloud.

Tableau Pulse: Date Updates

Set your dates for a more accurate view of your performance over time. Select rolling time ranges, such as the last 7 or 90 days, for a more precise understanding. You can also set your time series as dynamic to reflect the most recent data available, ensuring a complete picture when today's data hasn't been populated. Generally available across all Tableau Cloud editions.

Tableau Pulse and Tableau Agent are now Geo-Aware

Experience faster, more secure AI in Tableau. Now, Pulse and Agent automatically connect to the nearest LLM provider based on your Data Cloud region. This boosts performance and keeps your data in-region. Generally available across all Tableau Cloud editions. Note: Currently limited to one LLM

It’s the same trusted feature, now even more intuitive and welcoming.

Dynamic Color Ranges

• Color ranges that are responsive to your analysis. Dynamic Color Ranges help you highlight what matters, even with outliers in your data. Instead of filtering, use parameters to adjust your color scale and focus attention where it counts. It’s a fast, flexible way to keep your charts clear and insightful. This feature addresses or partially addresses the following request on the Salesforce IdeaExchange: Dynamic Colors throughout Tableau.

Dynamic Spatial Parameters

• Keep your maps in sync as you zoom, pan, and explore. With dynamic spatial parameters, you can filter data by map viewport, use the zoom to scale marks, and keep multiple maps in sync—all without reloading. This feature addresses or partially addresses the following request on the Salesforce IdeaExchange: Synchronizing multiple map views. It also addresses [1], [2], [3].

Tableau Pulse: Enhanced Q&A - Metric Filtering and Comparisons

Unlock what's driving your business performance through free form, conversational questions. Analyze and compare data through dimensions in a fully conversational experience. This feature addresses or partially addresses the following request on the Salesforce IdeaExchange: Allow filtering on Pulse Metrics.

Tableau Pulse: Enhanced Q&A - Multilingual Support

Enhance scalability and reduce misinterpretation of your business by asking questions in your preferred language. Explore insights in your local language regardless of what is used in the company data or site settings. This feature addresses or partially addresses the following request on the Salesforce IdeaExchange: Tableau Pulse support for other languages.

Tableau Pulse: Custom Calendar

Ensure analyzing relevant information by customizing calendar dates. Match specific business reporting needs with custom calendar definitions rather than the standard gregorian calendar.

Tableau Agent: Incremental Improvements

The latest Tableau Agent has been enhanced to better meet user needs and optimize the experience across the analytics journey with improvements to areas like suggested questions and follow-up suggestions. Tableau Agent is also now available in French Canadian and Korean.

Tableau Pulse: Certify Metric Definitions

Discern which metrics can be trusted to help users make informed business decisions. A green icon displayed in the Pulse experience provides additional context, certifying that the given metric is trusted and recommended.

Tableau Pulse: Configure Decimal Places

Manually adjust how many places to round to for Pulse metric values.

Tableau Pulse: Custom Daily Comparison

Ensure data relevance by comparing specific dates in Pulse metrics. Tailoring the comparison to a date, rather than standard time ranges, allows users to accurately compare changes to their data.

Tableau Pulse: Mute Metrics from Insight Summary

Focus metrics in Insight Summaries to highlight what's most important and mute less critical metrics to not appear. Users can continue to track muted metrics to keep tabs on the information in their Pulse experience.

Tableau Pulse: Filtering in Mobile

Understand data in specific dimensions to make more informed decisions by applying filters to Pulse metrics. View additional dimensions or apply exclusions to double click into the results.

Trusted Viz Extension on Public

Author Empowerment Quick Wins

Build connections and grow your community like never before with improved visibility. Authors can grow their following and see who has interacted with their visualizations. And the author preview card makes it easy to navigate and discover author profiles.

Multiple External IdPs for SCIM on a Site

• Integrate multiple IdPs on a site for faster provisioning
• Provision users and groups to Tableau using your identity provider (IdP) as the source of truth. Tableau now has multiple IdP support for authentication supporting user and group provisioning scenarios through the standards-compliant SCIM 2.0 feature. Admins can enable up to 20 IdPs for SCIM on a site to establish a connection between their IdP and Tableau Cloud site.
• As a part of this, admins can also make the most of the new REST APIs to programmatically configure SCIM on their site(s).
• Note that these REST APIs will come soon after Tableau 2025.2 release.

Tableau Exchange + Tableau Cloud

• Use Tableau Exchange connectors with Tableau Cloud
• The following Tableau Exchange connectors are now compatible with Tableau Bridge: MotherDuck/DuckDB, dbt Semantic Layer, and StarRocks.
• This feature addresses or partially addresses the following request on the Salesforce IdeaExchange: Read Duckdb embedded database.

Palantir Foundry Connector

• Seamless connection with Tableau Cloud
• The Palantir Foundry connector and driver are now available out-of-the-box in Tableau Cloud, making Palantir Foundry available for web authoring and enabling published workbooks, data sources, and flows to connect without Bridge.
• Available via Bridge June 2025
• Arriving as a native connector in Summer 2025

New Connectors in Tableau Exchange

• Tableau connects to the data that you need
• CData Virtuality, MongoDB SQL Interface, MotherDuck/DuckDB, and StarRocks connectors are now available for you to download from Tableau Exchange to add to your Tableau deployment.

Single Use Refresh Tokens

• Automatically re-authenticate OAuth credentials.
• Tableau now handles single-use refresh tokens to optimize users’ data connectivity experience for Box.com and Databricks connectors. Once you save OAuth credentials for a data source, Tableau will automatically handle refresh token rotation. Customers and partners can also enable this capability in their connectors developed using the Tableau Connector SDK.

Tableau App for Google Workspace

• Delivering insights where you need them
• Reduce unnecessary processes with a new version of the Tableau app for Google Workspace. It provides a native Tableau interface within Google Docs and Google Slides, so with one click, you can embed vizzes or Pulse metrics and refresh the content when you need it. This free app is available to all Tableau Cloud customers.
• This feature addresses or partially addresses the following request on the Salesforce IdeaExchange: Embed Tableau in Google Slides.

Tableau Cloud: Switzerland Region

• Create and maintain sites hosted where you need them
• Meet legal and data-residency requirements and increase performance for local users in the Switzerland region. Customers can select the Switzerland pod when creating a site in Tableau Cloud Manager.
• Available in August

Private Connect: Additional Connectors

• Enhance security by keeping the connection to data private
• Enhance your security by keeping the connection to data private and off the public internet. Tableau Cloud customers can now connect their AWS-hosted databases, such as PGSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, OracleDB, and Aurora, to Tableau Cloud using the AWS Private Link, which provides a secure, dedicated, and private connection, avoiding exposure to the public internet.
• Additionally, Private Connect can have cross-region connectivity for Redshift, PGSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, OracleDB, and Aurora. And offers Virtual Connection support.

Tableau Cloud PCI Compliance

• Secure Payment Card Industry data
• Customers within the Financial Services sector can now leverage Salesforce Hyperforce controls and implement additional safeguards within your Tableau Cloud environment to meet PCI 4.0 requirements and analyze PCI-protected data.

Session Recovery Improvements

• Minimize downtime during session recovery
• Tableau extended offline visualization interactivity for users during session recovery, even for large vizzes. Minimize downtime, especially in time-sensitive scenarios like presentations, and avoid getting error banners. When offline and reconnecting, a new button will replace the "Offline" indicator in the toolbar, allowing you to continue offline interactions. The button will inform you of the reconnect status, while interactions requiring server commands will be disabled until the connection is restored.

Admin Insights: Expanded Availability

• Available for Developer, Tableau for Teaching, or Partner programs
• Access Admin Insights for sites created under the Developer, Tableau for Teaching, or partner programs whenever you need them to monitor and improve customer success and adoption for these additional sites. The Admin Insights data sources and workbooks will automatically be deployed to these additional site types - no need to contact Tableau.

Admin Insights: Schedule Details

• Optimize subscription throughput
• Admins can see dashboard subscription schedules and determine which should be moved to another time of day to alleviate congestion. The additional fields describing the pertinent schedule information for each subscription are available in the Subscriptions data source in Admin Insights, allowing admins to analyze it and take actions.

Performance Insights Dashboard

• Speed up performance issue resolution
• Analyze dashboard performance with a new built-in report - Dashboard Load Times - and quickly uncover insights directly in Tableau Cloud. Admins can access the new performance dashboard within the Admin Insights Starter workbook, located in the Admin Insights project. Filter by specific workbooks and analyze which visualizations impact load times to identify and troubleshoot slow-performing dashboards.
• This feature addresses or partially addresses the following request on the Salesforce IdeaExchange: Custom views for stats for load times.

Additional Activity Log Events

• Maintain security compliance certifications
• Improve resource management monitoring and maintain security compliance certifications with additional event types. Available to support the Private Connect, Recycle Bin, and Prep Endpoint control features and log TabGPT configuration changes. Admins can ingest these logs into SIEM monitoring tools or import them to analytical data warehouses for reporting.

New Activity Log Events: View Interactions

• Troubleshoot faster of performance issues
• A new Activity Log event, vizql_http_requests, allows Tableau Cloud admins to monitor dashboard performance in real time to ensure an optimal user experience, data exports to meet security and compliance needs, and user interactions with dashboards to understand usage patterns. The Activity Log can be configured via the Site Settings page by provisioning an AWS S3 bucket and configuring the Activity Log to write log files. These new events will appear in the user_experience eventCategory folder.
• Note: Activity Log Events will arrive in July 2025.

• Leverage Tableau Content in React applications
• For development teams looking to embed Tableau Content in their custom React applications, the Node Package Manager (NPM) Package is now available for you to install and connect to your Tableau Cloud instances.

Databricks Connector Updates

• Authentication and SQL optimization for Databricks connections.
• Enhancements to the Databricks connector bring improved security with OAuth and refresh tokens, plus faster SQL optimizations. Connect, refresh, and model your Databricks data with less friction and more reliability.

Flow Ownership Changes

• Manage flows with quick ownership changes
• With Flow Ownership Changes, admins or current owners can pass control to others with just a couple clicks, avoiding the hassle of waiting for flow runs to finish. Plus, you can cancel in-progress runs whenever needed, making flow management more flexible and stress-free.
• This feature addresses or partially addresses the following request on the Salesforce IdeaExchange: Change ownership flows on Tableau Server. It also addresses [1].

Tableau Next and Slack Integration

• Transform collaboration with insights in every conversation.
• Share live analytics in Slack. You can now share metrics and dashboards in team channels, direct messages, and canvases allowing teams to collaborate on data and insights in the flow of work.

• Get trusted, on-demand answers with conversational analytics.
• Concierge, an Agentforce skill, enables you to ask questions and receive trusted, actionable answers in natural language with visual insights. It helps Agentforce quickly get insights, drill down deeper, and ultimately make faster, more informed decisions.

Tableau Semantics Connector

• Connect Tableau Cloud and Tableau Desktop to Tableau Semantics and use it as a data source.
• Effortlessly visualize your trusted data by connecting Tableau Cloud and Tableau Desktop to Tableau Semantics to use it as a data source. The Tableau Semantics connector bridges governed data models in Data Cloud with Tableau's powerful visualizations. Connect seamlessly to reusable models, create compelling dashboards, and get meaningful insights without having to start from scratch.

Tableau Next: Metric Record Table

• Act on your metric's records
• Gain clarity and act swiftly on your metrics. Analysts can now empower users to view the specific records influencing any given metric. This streamlined workflow allows immediate action directly within Salesforce, ensuring teams can address issues or capitalize on opportunities without switching tools.

• Compare metrics across identified time periods
• Gain deeper insights by comparing your followed metrics within a consistent time frame. Users can now easily adjust the time range for any of their followed metrics, allowing for quick trend comparisons across different datasets. • Boost your efficiency with an integrated and collaborative experience for analytics content creation. Workspaces provide analysts with a centralized hub where you have access to all the tools necessary to perform your visual analysis. Enabling Decouple Email Address from Username

• Ensure users receive all important notifications.
• Admins can set an email for Tableau Cloud users for notification purposes. Users may no longer have access to their stale email address's inbox or have been created with a username pointing to an unresolvable inbox. By decoupling the username and email address fields, users can keep updated to receive important notifications from Tableau Cloud.

• Multiple External IdPs for SCIM on a Site Provision users and groups to Tableau using your identity provider (IdP) as the source of truth. Tableau now has multiple IdP support for authentication supporting user and group provisioning scenarios through the standards-compliant SCIM 2.0 feature. Admins can enable up to 20 IdPs for SCIM on a site to establish a connection between their IdP and Tableau Cloud site. As a part of this, admins can also make the most of the new REST APIs to programmatically configure SCIM on their site(s). Note that these REST APIs will come soon after Tableau 2025.2 release.

• Session Recovery Improvements Tableau extended offline visualization interactivity for users during session recovery, even for large vizzes. Minimize downtime, especially in time-sensitive scenarios like presentations, and avoid getting error banners. When offline and reconnecting, a new button will replace the "Offline" indicator in the toolbar, allowing you to continue offline interactions. The button will inform you of the reconnect status, while interactions requiring server commands will be disabled until the connection is restored.

Admin Insights: Expanded Availability
