We are proud to deliver the /e/OS 3.4 version for supported devices whether they are on an Official or a Community build. Enjoy all the new features and improvements it embeds!

Account Manager

• We have updated the wording of the notification for the migration to OpenID Connect to make it clearer and easier to understand. OpenID Connect provides logging in to your Murena Workspace account across /e/OS and the Web when navigating the Internet with our default Browser.

Advanced Privacy

• The "app trackers" toggles have been renamed to "app trackers and ads" to better reflect that they block both trackers and advertisements in apps

Fairphone 4

• Mobile Data and VoLTE are now enabled by default out-of-the-box, while VoWiFi is disabled by default to ensure better initial connectivity stability

Murena Voice to Text

• OpenID Connect support has been introduced for Murena Voice-to-Text, streamlining authentication
• An explicit opt-in screen has been added when using Murena Voice-to-Text for the first time, ensuring users are fully informed before activation
• The microphone icon has been replaced with a cross icon to clearly indicate how to return to the keyboard. Added visual feedback on button presses for better responsiveness
• Error notifications have been improved to clearly explain issues (such as OpenAI service limits) when voice cannot be converted to text.
• Continued support has been ensured for the users who didn't migrate to OpenID Connect so everyone retains access to the feature
• The user's voice is now anonymized on device. Added to the IP-anonymizer proxy, this is strengthening the privacy of the voice recognition feature available to Murena Premium users. This is an intermediary step before a new voice recognition stack that will be fully hosted by Murena

Account Manager

• Fairphone Moments is now available on /e/OS: 🎉 It'll be automatically updated via App Lounge whenever an update is available. To enable this feature please go to Settings > System > Switch and select Fairphone Moments
• The Fairphone Camera app is now enabled by default for a better photography experience, while the /e/OS Camera remains available as a toggleable option

  • The text of the button in the Updates tab is now always correct
  • Geo or age-restricted apps are now displayed as not available instead of opening a webview inside App Lounge

  • Fixed inconsistencies between formal and informal French in the weekly report
  • Fixed Advanced Privacy's weekly report notifications popping continuously on first day of Winter time

• Fixed the issue where Red by SFR was choosing the wrong APN, causing no data connectivity
• App Lounge can now show and install all the common apps for this device

• The switch's position is now respected after a reboot

• Fixed the broken PDF reader share function

🚸 Parental Control

• Fixed UI issues in Parental Control including making it more responsive across different screen sizes
• Apps no longer remain locked after an OS update, even after a new day starts
• Apps outside the child’s age group are now toggled off by default in the installed app management screen.

⚙️ Settings

• Fixed warnings about PicoTTS being built for an older Android version.
• APNs updated for SFR MVNOs like RED, Prixtel, Reglo, etc. to have calls, SMS, MMS and data work as expected

🦸 Third Party Apps support

• Fixed security issues detected by the MAIF app on /e/OS
• Fixed the emulator error on Grindr
• DSK Mobile app no longer crashes
• Some crashes when updating microG from old version of /e/OS were fixed

🛡️ Advanced Privacy

• You are now informed in real time of application which are leaking/trying to leak your data. If you don't want to be notified of this you can simply long press the notification, tap on the cogwheel and untoggle the notification.

🛍️ App Lounge

• App size is now also displayed for applications coming from F-Droid
• It displays common apps based on region and not on locale

🕙 Software updates

• LineageOS 19.1 latest bug fixes and security updates have been merged (-empty- and main)
• Browser has been updated to v141.0.7390.111
• microG has been updated with upstream. Some crashes when updating from old version of /e/OS were fixed.

🐛 Bug fixes

• The button allowing the user to see more details in Advanced Privacy's weekly report is now working
• The Search feature is now working more smoothly
• Opening a Play Store link while using App Lounge in "Open Source and PWA only" mode is now handled properly
• The weekly update check option now maintains a correct interval for checking apps' update
• App Lounge now redirects the user to the home page when a link to an application is not available

🚸 Parental Control

• The crash which could be observed from time to time is no longer happening which makes screen time management always reliable

⚙️ Settings

• MDM is no longer available for devices based on AOSP 12

• Logging into Garmin Connect app is now possible again
• Deeplink activation is now automatically handled

• Security patches are no longer available for AOSP 12.
