✨ We embedded some improvements!

Browser

• WebAssembly support is now enabled by default for new users to improve performance on modern web applications.

Fairphone 6

• Added a toggle to choose between fast and slow charging speeds, just like the stock OS.
• Enabled the "Tap to wake" feature.
• Improved translations for the Fairphone Moments settings and the switch action options.
• The Fairphone Camera now automatically receives the necessary permissions on initial launch.

Software updates

• ➕ LineageOS 22.2 latest bug fixes and security updates have been merged (lineage-22.2 and main)
• ➕ Browser has been updated to upstream 144.0.7559.109

Bug fixes

App Lounge

• Fixed an issue where the “Update All” button showed the wrong state.
• Improved the accuracy of the "Installing" status to better reflect the actual system progress.
• Addressed an issue where App Lounge incorrectly blocked certain age-restricted apps even when Parental Control was disabled.

• Fixed a system crash occurring when pressing volume buttons while using the Action Button.

Account Manager

• We have updated the wording of the notification for the migration to OpenID Connect to make it clearer and easier to understand. OpenID Connect provides logging in to your Murena Workspace account across /e/OS and the Web when navigating the Internet with our default Browser.

Advanced Privacy

• The "app trackers" toggles have been renamed to "app trackers and ads" to better reflect that they block both trackers and advertisements in apps

Calendar

• The possibility to turn off notifications for the Calendar app was added. Thanks a lot to @tcecyk for this contribution to the project 🙏

The Fairphone (Gen. 6)

• Fairphone Moments is now available on /e/OS: 🎉 It'll be automatically updated via App Lounge whenever an update is available. To enable this feature please go to Settings > System > Switch and select Fairphone Moments
• The Fairphone Camera app is now enabled by default for a better photography experience, while the /e/OS Camera remains available as a toggleable option

Fairphone 5

• Mobile Data and VoLTE are now enabled by default out-of-the-box, while VoWiFi is disabled by default to ensure better initial connectivity stability

Teracube 2e (2020/2021) is now running AOSP 15 🎉

Murena Voice to Text

• OpenID Connect support has been introduced for Murena Voice-to-Text, streamlining authentication
• An explicit opt-in screen has been added when using Murena Voice-to-Text for the first time, ensuring users are fully informed before activation
• The microphone icon has been replaced with a cross icon to clearly indicate how to return to the keyboard. Added visual feedback on button presses for better responsiveness
• Error notifications have been improved to clearly explain issues (such as OpenAI service limits) when voice cannot be converted to text.
• Continued support has been ensured for the users who didn't migrate to OpenID Connect so everyone retains access to the feature
• The user's voice is now anonymized on device. Added to the IP-anonymizer proxy, this is strengthening the privacy of the voice recognition feature available to Murena Premium users. This is an intermediary step before a new voice recognition stack that will be fully hosted by Murena

• Fixed UI issues in Parental Control including making it more responsive across different screen sizes
• Apps no longer remain locked after an OS update, even after a new day starts
• Apps outside the child’s age group are now toggled off by default in the installed app management screen.

⚙️ Settings

• Fixed warnings about PicoTTS being built for an older Android version.
• APNs updated for SFR MVNOs like RED, Prixtel, Reglo, etc. to have calls, SMS, MMS and data work as expected

🦸 Third Party Apps support

• Fixed security issues detected by the MAIF app on /e/OS
• Fixed the emulator error on Grindr
• DSK Mobile app no longer crashes
• Some crashes when updating microG from old version of /e/OS were fixed
