Polestar releases a broad update with bug fixes and stability boosts across center display, video and audio sync, climate preconditioning, dashcam persistence, and driver profile settings. Release notes

    • Video streaming services improvements including mitigation of video signals causing sound to play without picture

    • Animal mode now automatically turns off headlights when activated. The headlights will return to the chosen setting once Animal mode is turned off

    • Set climate timers will now start 30 minutes prior to set departure time

      • Previously, the timer started 15 minutes prior to set time. If the user does not enter the vehicle at the set departure time, the climate will continue to run for an additional 10 minutes before turning off
    • Preconditioning of the cabin climate via direct start in the Polestar app will now run for 30 minutes before switching off

      • Previously, the climate ran for 15 minutes after direct start
    • Dashcam settings are now saved to driver profiles

      • Your preferred settings will now be saved to your driver profile, allowing the user to accept the privacy preferences at first time of use only. All settings, including automatic emergency recording, will now remain saved between drive cycles
      • The guest profile will always restore to default settings between drive cycles and require acceptance of the privacy preferences at every use
    • While parked, if the driver’s door is left open and no driver is detected in the seat, any music currently playing will pause

      • Previously, music continued to play until the vehicle was locked

    ADAS improvements

Pilot Assist gains AI-based lateral control that follows lane edges for natural steering, with Lane Keeping Aid adding a vibrations-only option. ACC and Pilot Assist now work up to 180 km/h and 150 km/h respectively, with smoother acceleration, fewer unnecessary brake interventions, and improved driver-not-detected alerts.

    • Pilot Assist now uses a new AI-based method for lateral control, following the drive path within the lane instead of just the center. The steering control will now handle road curves in a more natural manner.

      • This does not reduce the driver's responsibility to operate the vehicle as safely as possible.
    • Lane Keeping Aid now improved to include a setting for steering wheel vibrations only

      • Previously the Lane Keeping Aid system only offer ON and OFF settings, with the ON setting using both steering interventions and vibrations. You can now select "vibrations only" or "vibrations and steering interventions" when selecting ON. Please note that steering interventions will still be active for solid road lines and edges.
    • Pilot Assist now works at speeds up to 150 km/h. If your speed exceeds 150 km/h while using Pilot Assist, lateral control will automatically resume when the speed drops below 150 km/h

    • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) now works at speeds up to 180 km/h

    • Tuning improvements to ACC and Pilot Assist to provide a smoother acceleration and braking experience

    • Pilot Assist improved to avoid unnecessary brake interventions while driving.

    • “Driver Not Detected” warning system improved to reduce the number of false alerts

    Updates in Software Version P4.2.4

A product-focused update introducing a dozen new in-car apps usable when parked via Google Built-in, plus changes to driver profiling so the driver’s profile is selected when the driver’s door opens if a key is connected. It also revises default profile behavior, adds more functions to the favorites
