Gumroad Release Notes

Hi there,

I'm Ershad, the new CEO of Gumroad. I've been working on the product for 8 years and recently took over from Sahil, who remains as Chairman. I wanted to give you a quick update on what we've been building for you.

What we shipped in the last 12 months

• Installment payments — Customers can now pay for high-ticket products in installments. Just flip a toggle in your product settings.
• Product reviews on landing pages — Add verified customer reviews directly to your product page. No more copy-pasting testimonials.
• Automatic discount codes — Apply a discount to your product that shows the discounted price everywhere — your profile, Discover, and direct links. Great for Black Friday.
• Communities — Built-in group chat for your product. Toggle it on and your customers can talk to each other and to you. No need for a separate Discord.
• Churn dashboard — If you run a membership, you can now see churn rates and lost revenue right in Gumroad. No more spreadsheets.
• Daily payouts — Eligible US bank accounts can now receive payouts every day.
• Tax documents section — All your tax forms in one place on your payouts page, filterable by year.

Customer support

We've been investing heavily in faster response times. Right now:

• AI assistant responds to 99.9% of tickets within 1 hour
• Human staff responds to 86% of tickets within 1 hour
• Our target: P90 response time under 24 hours for all tickets

We're also building better self-service tools so you can resolve more things yourself without ever needing to contact us.

What's coming in 2026

• Mobile app — A native Expo app so you can manage your products, check sales, and respond to customers from your phone.
• Faster product editing — Complete redesign of the product edit page.
• Speed improvements — We're migrating our frontend to Inertia (nearly done) and Tailwind, which means a much faster experience across the board.
• More creator admin tools — Features like bulk version migration so you don't need to open a support ticket for common tasks.

Hey Creators!

We just released a new feature that makes running promotions even easier: You can now set a discount code to automatically apply to your products without your customers having to know the discount code.

Here's how it works:

• Simply set a default discount code in your product settings, and the discounted pricing will automatically appear everywhere across the platform.
• This ensures all your new customers get the discounted price without them needing to manually enter a code.
• If a customer provides their own discount code it will take priority over the default one you've set.
• All purchases made with these automatic discounts are fully tracked in your sales data, so you can monitor the performance of your campaign just like any other sale.

This update is perfect for flash sales, seasonal promotions, or ongoing discounts to boost conversions and simplify your workflow.

Your digital products can now become social hubs for your customers with our new Community feature that lets customers connect with each other directly within Gumroad.

What you can do:

• Create dedicated spaces for each product
• Customers automatically get access when they purchase

• Reduce churn by fostering community engagement

Visit each of your product’s settings to enable this feature. Your customers will then see a prompt to join the community for any products they’ve purchased.
