Record Without Opening Letterly

You don't have to open Letterly to use it anymore. Add an Apple Shortcut once, and start recording with a single tap – from the Action Button, Control Center, the Lock Screen, or the Home Screen. Available on iOS 26 and newer.

Record to Letterly

Run the "Quick Voice Note" Shortcut, say what's on your mind, and the note appears in Letterly on its own. You don't even need to unlock your phone.

Dictate to any app

Need the text somewhere else? Start the Shortcut and the recording runs in the background, so you can dictate straight into a messenger, mail, or a form. Stop it from the Letterly Keyboard and the text lands in the field you're in, or grab it from your clipboard and paste it anywhere.

Letterly for Windows, Now Complete

This release means a lot to us.

Letterly started with simple voice notes. Then Dictation made it possible to write anywhere with your voice. And now Letterly can record meetings, even with headphones on.

Before, if you used headphones, Letterly only recorded your voice. Now it records your computer's audio too, so every voice on the call is captured.

When the recording is ready, Letterly splits it by speaker, so you can see who said what.

Letterly Keyboard Update

We’re continuing to improve Letterly Keyboard on iPhone. Now you can rewrite text by voice, right from the keyboard. You’ll find it in Keyboard → Rewrites.

After dictation, say how you want to change the text. For example, make it shorter, change the tone, translate it, or fix a mistake.

If you haven’t edited the text, Voice Rewrite will apply to your last dictation.

Want to change a specific part? Select it first, then say how to change it.

Changed your mind? Tap Undo.

MCP and Log Out on Android

Android's turn. Your Letterly notes are now available right inside the AI tools you already use. No copying, no switching apps.

MCP Connections

Letterly now connects to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other AI tools via MCP. You can:

• ask about your notes
• write and rewrite text
• add custom rewrite options

Also in this update

You can now log out of your Letterly account on Android. Letterly will sync your data first, then remove local notes and recordings from this device. Internet connection required.

New App Languages and Dictation Improvements

Finally, it’s here! You can now switch the Letterly interface to Dutch or Japanese. We also made a couple of useful Dictation improvements.

Dutch and Japanese interface

You can now use Letterly in Dutch and Japanese. Just open the app language settings, choose the language you prefer, and enjoy.

Also in this update

Letterly now saves Dictation audio in History on the device where you recorded it, so you can return to it later.

Transcribe recordings again from Dictation History on the same device, for example if the text wasn’t recognized the first time.

Recording Improvements and Windows App

More reliable recording

Your recordings are now better protected from unexpected interruptions. If a recording stops because your phone runs out of battery, Letterly will save the audio and continue with transcription when you open the app again.

Letterly on Windows

Letterly is now available as a Windows app, with Dictation built in. Speak your thoughts anywhere on your computer, turn them into clean text, and rewrite them right away.

Combine multiple notes into one. Select the notes, and Letterly will merge them for you.

Text Replacements

Letterly can swap phrases in your transcript for text you choose. For example:

say "my signature" get "Best regards, Adam"

A Better Dictation Experience on Windows

This update gives you more control over Dictation from start to finish, plus a small improvement for reviewing your notes.

Main rewrite for Dictation

Choose one rewrite option to apply automatically after you stop dictating. Use the default Letterly rewrite, the raw transcript, or one of your own prompts.

Pinned rewrite options

Pin up to three rewrite options to keep under the floating bar. Use them when you want to quickly rewrite your dictation another way.

Dictation settings in one place

Open Settings → Dictation to manage your Dictation setup in one place. Choose your main rewrite, pin quick rewrite options, search through prompts, or create a new prompt right from Settings.

Updated audio player

When one note has multiple “Record More” sessions, the updated audio player shows each recording separately, so you can choose which one to play and switch between them easily.

Dictionary, Text Replacements, and more

We added Dictionary and Text Replacements on Windows, and made several improvements to Dictation to help Letterly feel faster, smarter, and easier to rely on.

Dictionary

Add names, brands, technical terms, and other words you want Letterly to always spell correctly. You can also add words to your Dictionary while using Dictation: select a word and press the shortcut to save it to your personal Dictionary.

Text Replacements

Turn spoken phrases into custom text you use often — like addresses, links, phone numbers, signatures, and more. For example:
