Filevine Announces LOIS for Word as it Acquires Pincites

Filevine announces the acquisition of Pincites, adding Word-native drafting and redlining to its LOIS platform for end-to-end litigation work. The deal follows recent buys and a strong 2025 growth run, signaling a new era of AI-powered legal work.

    Filevine acquires Pincites

The acquisition of Pincites adds Word-native functionality and industry-leading drafting and redlining to Filevine’s AI-Powered Legal Operating Intelligence System (LOIS).

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – January 14, 2026 – Filevine has acquired Pincites, an AI-powered drafting and contract redlining tool built for Microsoft Word and trusted by enterprise teams at high-growth technology and global companies including Redis, Glean, and Vercel. With this acquisition, the full Pincites team has joined Filevine and together will create litigation-specific drafting technology while continuing to invest in world-class redlining for transactional attorneys. Pincites selected Filevine during a highly competitive process after receiving bids from multiple Legal AI unicorns.

“We got to know Pincites because we were early customers and quickly expanded our contract. We use their product daily and my team loves it,” said Ryan Anderson, CEO of Filevine. “After getting to know Sona and Mariam, it became clear why the product is so good: they are special founders with exacting standards for quality, beauty, and engineering rigor. I’m thrilled to build the world's best AI drafting experience side by side with them.”

Pincites brings deep intelligence to contract work in the same way Filevine brings intelligence to the full matter lifecycle. Built directly into Microsoft Word, Pincites reviews and rewrites clauses using established standards, negotiation playbooks, and market benchmarks. It learns from every edit, identifies risk with precision, and accelerates the movement of complex agreements. Combined with Filevine’s Legal Operating Intelligence System (LOIS), the integration will allow teams to manage depositions, contracts, and all legal tasks as connected components within one complete platform.

Pincites will become Filevine’s LOIS for Word delivering best-in-class drafting and redlining for all legal professionals.

In May 2025, Filevine acquired Parrot (now Depositions by Filevine), a virtual deposition and AI-powered medical records chronology (MedChron) platform. Building on that momentum, Filevine acquired Pincites in December 2025. With Pincites, litigators can draft, edit, and revise briefs directly in Microsoft Word while maintaining seamless connectivity to their case data. Together, these acquisitions reinforce Filevine’s commitment to delivering an end-to-end litigation platform purpose-built to support litigators at every stage of the case lifecycle. In 2025, Filevine also announced a $400M all-equity raise strengthening its ability to invest in product innovation, security, and strategic acquisitions.

In 2025, Filevine’s LegalAI corporate category grew 120%, with some customers signing multi-year, multi-million dollar agreements. Large organizations such as Kroger, Goodwill, the Utah Jazz, Garmin, and seven of the nation’s largest P&C Insurers use Filevine for claims management, depositions, risk operations, and in-house counsel support. To better serve these clients, Filevine sought a best-in-class redlining solution that could address high volume contract review with precision and scale. Pincites emerged as the clear choice, offering unmatched intelligence, intuitive design, and a visionary founding team.

“Pincites is a tool we really needed in order to start handling customer agreements at scale,” said Sanjana Parikh, Legal Counsel at Vercel. “With Pincites, we were able to turn unstructured knowledge into a customized solution that we knew would work.”

The Pincites founders chose Filevine as the ideal partner for the next chapter of their growth. "After meeting Filevine’s leadership team and seeing the strength of their technology and customer base, we knew there was no close second," said Sona Sulakian, co-founder of Pincites. "Filevine has the ambition, infrastructure, and vision to redefine how legal work gets done. Joining forces was an easy decision."

Filevine Is Now Listed in the FedRAMP Marketplace, Bringing Industry-Leading Security to Legal Work

Filevine announces FedRAMP authorization and Marketplace listing, highlighting top security for government and legal teams. The rollout marks the first authorized eSignature and positions Filevine as the only legal ops intelligence platform in FedRAMP, with a roadmap to broader coverage.

October 29, 2025, Salt Lake City, Utah

Filevine today announced it has achieved FedRAMP 20x Authorization, which requires the implementation and automation of stringent security controls. As a result, the company is now listed in the FedRAMP Marketplace, underscoring Filevine’s commitment to delivering the most secure legal tech platform for government, law firms, and corporate legal teams.

Filevine is one of a few select legal tech platforms listed in the FedRAMP Marketplace, a clear validation of the company’s dedication to security, trust, and the evolving needs of modern legal teams. Notably, Filevine is the only knowledge management company with a product in the FedRAMP marketplace, and its eSignature solution is the first in its product suite to receive official authorization, making it one of only two eSignature tools with this distinction.

“Filevine has always prioritized security, but FedRAMP takes us to the next level,” said Ryan Anderson, CEO of Filevine. “By earning our place in the FedRAMP Marketplace, we’re giving legal teams the confidence to move faster, protect sensitive data, and unlock real outcomes without compromise. This is a major step in our journey to make Filevine the legal operations intelligence platform that you can trust with your data.”

    Why It Matters

    • Filevine is the only legal operations intelligence software listed in the FedRAMP Marketplace.
    • Filevine meets the gold standard for security and compliance.
    • Filevine is the legal technology that you can trust with your data.

“Being listed in the FedRAMP Marketplace affirms Filevine’s commitment to best-in-class security our customers expect,” said Dean Sapp, Chief Information Security Officer at Filevine. “We’re continuously raising the bar with rigorous controls, testing, and monitoring so legal teams can operate at speed while keeping their most sensitive data secure.”

    What’s Next

Today, Filevine holds a FedRAMP Low impact authorization with a roadmap targeting Moderate. Over the coming months and years, the company will extend authorization coverage, product-by-product, across Filevine’s platform.

Filevine’s FedRAMP status is the latest authorization illustrating its commitment to security and compliance. The company also adheres to CJIS, SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, and other compliance frameworks providing customers with confidence their data is always safe and secure.

With FedRAMP as a cornerstone, Filevine is uniquely positioned to help government agencies, enterprises, and corporate legal departments modernize legal operations while meeting rigorous compliance expectations. For more information, visit filevine.com.

Filevine Unveils Legal Operating Intelligence System at Lex Summit 2025

Filevine unveils LOIS, the Legal Operating Intelligence System, at LEX Summit 2025, delivering an AI-powered, verifiable workspace with source-cited outputs and intent-aware routing to speed up and audit legal work. Previewed Timely, MedCron, Depositions by Filevine, a brand refresh, and 2025 awards.

SALT LAKE CITY — October 8, 2025 — At its annual customer conference, LEX Summit 2025, Filevine unveiled the Legal Operating Intelligence System (LOIS), the next evolution in connected legal technology. LOIS represents Filevine’s vision for how artificial intelligence and data automation can transform every aspect of legal work, empowering attorneys to deliver faster, more accurate outcomes with total transparency.

Filevine previewed the next generation of its AI-powered conversational workspace, allowing legal teams to ask questions and draft documents directly from live case files, notes, calendars, and custom fields, all within Filevine. The new experience emphasizes verifiable outputs, pairing every answer with source citations and excerpted evidence so attorneys can audit results instantly. Behind the scenes, intent-aware routing directs each query, whether summarizing depositions, extracting facts, or calculating rule-based deadlines, to the most suitable capability within LOIS, improving both speed and reliability.

Filevine also showcased innovation across its AI portfolio, including Timely, which automates jurisdiction-specific deadlines, and MedCron, which transforms medical records into searchable, exportable medical chronologies aligned with SOC 2 and HIPAA expectations. When it was time to showcase Depositions by Filevine, the company demonstrated a full, live deposition and how the software can assist legal professionals in real time.

“Firms deserve operational intelligence that meets them where they work." said Ryan Anderson, CEO of Filevine. “LOIS is that tool. We can’t wait to help customers build, customize and leverage their own Legal Operational Intelligence System.”

LEX Summit also previewed a peek of Filevine’s refreshed brand identity, reflecting its evolution from a legal tech platform into a holistic operating system for legal intelligence. The company celebrated innovation in the legal community through the 2025 Filevine Customer Awards, recognizing Lerner and Rowe as an Inspirational Innovator, ARKO Corp-GPM Investments, LLC for Business Brilliance, and the Lifetime Achievement award to Alexander Shunnarah Trial Attorneys. These firms are redefining efficiency, client service, and data-driven practice management.

The three-day event drew more than 1300 attendees from across the U.S. and Canada. This was Filevine’s largest customer gathering to date and featured Bob Odenkirk, Vanessa Van Edwards, and Alex Spiro as the main keynotes sharing their knowledge, expertise, and wisdom to help others advance in their professions.

With LOIS, Filevine is redefining what it means to run a modern legal operation by connecting intelligence to every decision, every document, and every client interaction. For more information, visit www.filevine.com.

The funds will scale its AI‑driven Legal Operating Intelligence platform, expand go‑to‑market, and deepen enterprise/government adoption. Salt Lake City, Utah – September 23, 2025 – Filevine, the pioneer of the Legal Operating Intelligence System, has raised $400 million in an all-equity financing, underscoring investor confidence in both the legal tech market and Filevine’s growing market share. Over a 15-month period, Filevine closed two funding rounds. The first was led by Insight Partners, followed by a larger subsequent round that brought in Accel and Halo Fund to co-lead alongside Insight Partners, with participation from previous investors including Meritech, Stepstone, Run Ventures, and Album Ventures, reflecting strong momentum and investor conviction.New capital will allow Filevine to scale products that already show meaningful acceleration and expand AI capabilities. Additionally, this capital will fuel go-to-market strategy.
Leading software investors with deep category expertise saw clear product-market momentum, accelerating AI adoption, and a durable business built over the course of the past decade. This cements Filevine as a category-defining legal technology platform built with AI and fully integrated into the operating system legal teams rely on daily. While fragmented tools create silos and provide limited or incorrect insight, Filevine delivers one holistic AI platform giving legal teams the scale, data, and connectivity they need to deliver real business impact. No other legal tech company natively brings together emails, text messages, deadlines, contacts, documents, deposition videos (and transcripts), phone logs, notes, tasks, audit logs, intake notes, and calendars to deliver case-critical and reliable intelligence like Filevine. Filevine’s advantage is context + adoption: AI is embedded in daily legal work and already delivering results. Filevine users upload more than 20 million pages of documents daily, underscoring the platform's scale and reliability.
The company has grown rapidly since its founding, with nearly 6,000 customers and 100,000 legal professionals using Filevine across boutique firms, government agencies and Fortune 500 enterprises. Filevine’s long history of taking care of customers is evidenced by over 96% gross retention of Filevine Core, its platform and flagship product, and boasts best-in-class customer retention and Net Dollar Retention over 120%.
Filevine will use proceeds from the raise to further its lead in serving litigators, attract top talent, and deepen its base of enterprise and government customers. With its scale, proprietary data, and embedded AI, the company is positioned to define the future of the legal technology market.
“Some early versions of legal AI forced lawyers to work in two systems: their systems of record and their AI tools. But that framework isn't what the market demands. Filevine embeds intelligence into the DNA of daily legal work, with the first true legal operating intelligence system. Every task a legal professional completes should be augmented with intelligence,” said Ryan Anderson, Founder & CEO of Filevine.
Rebecca Liu-Doyle, Managing Director at Insight Partners added: “Filevine has proven its ability to sustain tremendous growth while simultaneously capturing new opportunities and markets. We at Insight are highly impressed with Ryan and team, and we’re excited to double down with Filevine as they continue scaling into this next chapter.”
John Locke, Partner at Accel shared: “Filevine is tackling a problem that others are missing by developing a system of record where AI is seamlessly woven into every function, and scalable for small firms to enterprise operations. The company’s track record speaks for itself: consistent revenue growth, exceptional client retention, and a product that legal teams desperately need. We’re excited to back Filevine as they lead the legal tech space.”
Ryan Smith, Co-founder of Halo Fund, said: “During diligence, we saw Filevine's AI products have heavy daily usage, with over 20% week over week growth in their cross-platform AI-chat tool. With about 130% YoY AI revenue growth, users told us they are deriving real value from Filevine's integrated AI products.”
