LOIS Workflows

• Workflow variables now sit under a single "Variables" section, expanded by default, instead of being listed individually as raw expressions alongside step names. Saved expressions are unchanged.
• Opening step execution details from job history or a test run now lands on the Output of the most recent attempt rather than the step definition.
• Fix: Nested variable expressions were being rejected in the editor. An expression with one {{ }} inside another would save cleanly and then silently never update the variable at run time, which is what broke arithmetic on a variable inside a loop. The editor now flags it as invalid so it surfaces while building.

LOIS

• In the LOIS Console, users can now cancel their prompts after submission by clicking the stop icon in the chat box.

FVDA

• Fix: File names no longer drop periods during .docx export. Downloaded contract file names now match the document name exactly, including periods that appear in the deal name.
• Fix: Exporting to .docx no longer produces files that Word occasionally flagged as damaged and prompted to repair on open—the issue affected only certain templates.
• Fix: The Page Size selection in the export dialog now applies to .docx exports—choosing Letter or Legal previously had no effect.

Client Portal

• As an alternative to email or SMS, Vinesign can now deliver signed documents via the Client Portal. Once all parties have signed, the completed document arrives as a portal message and is saved to the portal’s Documents section.

FVDA

• A new Legal page size option is available in theme settings alongside Letter, and applies to exported .docx and .pdf documents.
• Fix: Links followed by punctuation now open correctly.
• Fix: Addresses are now consistently available for use in conditional logic, resolving cases where some addresses were previously missing.
• Fix: Renamed table columns now stay linked to their calculated variables, so authors no longer need to track down and re-link references by hand.
• Fix: The new “Country” field from contacts now pulls into documents correctly instead of saving as blank.
• Fix: Configuration pre-filters now correctly recognize Filevine's "Unknown" default dropdown value, so conditional logic based on it triggers as expected.
• Fix: Collection selector pop-ups now show all matching data when a pre-filter finds no matches, and automatically add the filtered field as a visible column.

Platform MCP

• Firms can now connect Claude to Filevine, allowing it to work within Filevine as the signed-in user with that user's own permissions. Reach out to your Filevine representative to learn more.

LOIS Workflows

• The job log filters now accept a time alongside the date, so narrowing a busy day's run history to a specific window no longer means paging through every job for that day.
• The Workflows grid status and Job History grid completion status now render as colored pills rather than neutral boxes, making Completed, Failed, and In Progress distinguishable at a glance.

DataBridge / Reporting

• Fix: VW_DATABRIDGE_PROJECT_CAN_ACCESS_V1 now reliably returns TENANT_ID as an upper-case VARCHAR. An upstream permissions change briefly rendered this column as a lower-case UUID between Wed 9 Sep 11:25 and Thu 10 Sep 13:05 MT. Consumers that joined or filtered on TENANT_ID case-sensitively during that window may have silently dropped rows, and should re-pull anything extracted in it.

Vinesign

• Vinesign now supports Filevine Identity (FVID) login credentials for all Filevine-connected accounts. Users can navigate to Vinesign from the profile menu and log in with their FVID credentials.

Client Portal

• Documents larger than 5 MB now upload in chunks, so a dropped connection or locked phone no longer forces the client to restart the upload from scratch.
• Fix: Confirmation codes for clients with multiple cases at the same firm now correctly follow their invite language.
• Fix: Moving a case type between timelines no longer leaves it mapped to both, which had been causing errors for some invitations.
• Fix: The document upload progress bar now displays correctly for clients using a language with a comma decimal separator (e.g. Spanish).

Filevine today launched a citator and anti-hallucination capabilities inside LOIS Legal Research, built to solve legal AI's costliest mistake: a citation that looks right but isn't. Sometimes the case doesn't exist at all. Far more often, the case is real, but it doesn't say what the brief claims it does.

No technology removes a lawyer's professional obligation to verify every citation before it's filed. Courts are sanctioning attorneys nationwide over AI-generated errors, costing careers, licenses, and in at least one case, an entire trial. LOIS streamlines this verification process, reducing hours of work to mere minutes. Every citation in LOIS carries a status, unverified cases are flagged before filing, and verification happens in the same tool where the brief gets drafted.

Filevine's own legal team ran LOIS against 68 federal filings that courts had already sanctioned for fabricated or misused authority. The team checked 2,073 citations and confirmed 174 severe errors the filing attorneys themselves had missed.

In another head-to-head test, LOIS caught all 14 "silent" negative treatments in a case set: holdings quietly overruled by opinions that never cite them. Westlaw's KeyCite and Lexis' Shepard's caught none.

Activity Feed

• In the Activity Feed, user feed, and task page, users can now filter to see items where a user was mentioned via @ or +@.

Client Portal

• Fix: Automated portal notifications (invite, phase change, new message, invoice) now correctly follow the language selected on the invite.
• Fix: Client Portal forms now fully support browser languages with 3-letter codes (e.g. Krio, Cebuano, Hawaiian), staying translated and working reliably across page reloads.

Documents

• In the New Project Docs experience, date columns now sort from newest to oldest on the first click.
• Fix: Audio and video files over 2 GB now preview as expected.

FVDA

• Fix: Duplicated borders on document captions have been resolved, and section border settings have been improved.
• Fix: Repeater sections inside appendices now correctly pick up the appendix's numbering style, instead of showing an inconsistent number format.
• Fix: Deals no longer get stuck in the Signing status when a party is removed from a deal or template but their signature block was left behind. Instead, they now correctly auto-advance to Done.

Time & Billing

• Org Admin permissions are no longer required to use the Send for Approval and Mark as Approved options on individual invoices.
• When customizing billing emails, firms can now include Project Number and Client Matter ID as available variables.

LOIS Workflows

• Step types are now cards, not a dropdown. Adding a step shows the four step types straight away, instead of hiding them behind a menu, so choosing one takes a single click.
• Conditions are easier to add and remove. The control that used to say "Hide conditions" now says "Remove conditions"—clicking it clears the conditions and closes the section. Deleting the last condition on a trigger now closes the section back to "Add conditions," instead of leaving an empty one behind, which previously blocked Save with a validation error.
• The If/Else step is now called Conditions. This change is a naming change only. The step behaves exactly as before, but anyone following existing documentation or training material will see the new label.
• Duplicate a workflow. You can now copy an existing workflow rather than rebuilding it from scratch.
• Search a step's iterations when reviewing a run. The step-output list now has a search box, so finding one iteration in a long run no longer means paging through it. The testing page also stays responsive on runs with very large iteration counts.
• Fix: Editing trigger conditions could hide workflow steps. Steps stayed in the workflow but disappeared from the canvas after a trigger-condition edit.

DataBridge Reporting

• New view VW_DATABRIDGE_PROJECT_SECTIONS_DATA_V6. Adds COLLECTION_ITEM_CREATED_DATE — the UTC timestamp for when a collection item was created, null for all static sections — alongside COLLECTION_ITEM_GUID and FIELD_OBJECT. Consumers on V5 are unaffected; move to V6 to get creation dates for collection items.

Vinesign

• When a user changes the email address on their account, the change now takes effect only after they confirm it from the new address. Repeated requests to resend that confirmation email are also limited.
• Non-mobile numbers are now blocked at the point of entry—while the user can still edit them—rather than later in the signing process.

Client Portal

• Fix: Portal users were unable to download files from file attachment fields in forms. This affected both files pre-loaded from Filevine and files uploaded by the client through the form. This has been resolved.

Documents

• When attempting to preview files larger than 2 GB, users will now see clearer messaging that the file is too large to preview.

FVDA

• Fix: PDF export formatting issues affecting non-left-aligned text have been corrected for the Download PDF export option.
• Fix: URLs in documents are clickable links again.
• Fix: Paragraph borders shown in the template and document editor now match the text width they will have in the exported .docx file, instead of appearing full-width.
• Fix: Duplicating a template across teams, or uploading a .vine file to create a template, no longer carries over the source template's team-specific settings—such as themes, custom workflows, or connection settings—which could result in invalid configurations.
• Fix: Text alignment no longer reverts to left-aligned in .docx exports for repeating sections.
• Fix: Total rows no longer go missing in .docx exports for connected table variants.
• Fix: Deleted Party variables no longer appear in generated documents.

MedChron's AI can now flag potential gaps in treatment events of more than 30 days, helping legal teams quickly spot breaks in care. This analysis runs automatically on initiation and continuously re-analyzes as new documents are added.

Activity Feed

• The Summarize button in the project's Activity Feed now simply displays the LOIS icon. Clicking it opens and prompts Ask LOIS to summarize the project's activity from the last 30 days.

Client Portal

• Video links shared in Client Portal messages now embed as playable videos directly in the conversation. When a message contains only a video link, the URL is hidden and just the player appears. YouTube, Vimeo, and Loom links are supported.
• Fix: Removing the custom field selector from a split timeline in Client Portal Manager could previously prevent saving for that project type. This is now resolved, and affected project types can be repaired through the interface without manual intervention.
• Fix: Collection section fields are no longer available as exclusion filter criteria for automated form sending, which previously caused errors when a phase change triggered the auto-send.

Time and Billing

• Users now have the option to Save and Duplicate entries in the Billing Timesheet.
• The billing timer is now resizable.

DataBridge and Reporting

• Project archived status now available: VW_DATABRIDGE_PROJECT_LIST_DATA_V1 and VW_DATABRIDGE_PROJECT_LIST_DATA_V2 now include a new IS_ARCHIVED column, so you can distinguish or filter archived vs. active projects in project list views. No existing columns change.
• New project access view: New view VW_DATABRIDGE_PROJECT_CAN_ACCESS_V1 shows which users can access which projects within each Org/tenant. Output columns: TENANT_ID, ORG_ID, ORG_NAME, PROJECT_ID, PROJECT_NAME, USER_ID, USER_NAME. Scoped to active tenants and active users. This new view is useful for access auditing and permission reporting.

DataBridge

• The new VW_DATABRIDGE_NOTES_DATA_V4 view includes everything from V3 plus a new IS_PINNED_TO_PROJECT column, showing whether a note is pinned to its project. V1 through V3 remain available and unchanged for existing consumers.

Documents

• Users no longer need Org Admin access to use Mass DocGen. The Advanced permission alone is now enough.
• AI Doc Review now appears as an action in the audit report.

FVDA & Outlaw

• Templates now include an option to “lock” specific sections. This lock carries over to any documents created from that template. Firms can determine which users have permission to lock sections, and which users can override those locks at the document level.

Lead Docket

• LOIS in Lead Docket now automatically OCRs all documents in a lead, allowing it to generate document summaries in addition to its existing lead-level Q&A. New uploads are OCR'd automatically, and documents in existing leads are processed the next time a user opens that lead.
• Users can view the AI document summary, when available, from the document’s vertical ellipsis ⋮ menu.

SALT LAKE CITY — June 22, 2026 — Filevine today announced its new AI-native legal citator and authority-validation tool, LOIS Legal Research.

As a new capability within Filevine’s Legal Operating Intelligence System (LOIS) console, a lawyer can search, read, and click through millions of precedential opinions from U.S. federal and state jurisdictions. Using a patent-pending process, the lawyer can determine whether a specific selected passage in any of those opinions remains good law. The feature represents a first-of-its-kind challenger to traditional methodologies used by legacy citators, bringing a fundamentally different approach to the validation problem in legal research.

While legal verification tools rely on explicit citation relationships and apply treatment signals to entire opinions, LOIS Legal Research operates at the user-selected passage level. Legal professionals highlight the exact rule they plan to rely on in their argument, and Filevine’s tool returns a structured memo detailing how later courts have treated that specific proposition. Additionally, within the LOIS console, users can read and navigate directly to the full opinion text of any surfaced cases — making it easy to move seamlessly between the citator results and the underlying source material.

DataBridge / Reporting

DataBridge has a new secure data-share view for notes/tasks that adds a “Subtype” column on top of the existing view. This new column classifies each record as “clientportal” (client portal messages), “email” (notes/tasks whose source looks like an email address), or “NULL” (everything else).

Customers on the DataBridge share who want to distinguish client-portal vs. email-originated notes should point to the new version, VW_DATABRIDGE_NOTES_DATA_V3. V1 and V2 are unchanged—no action is required for existing consumers.

Lead Docket

• LOIS in Lead Docket now allows customers to ask about call details whenever transcripts are available.
• LOIS in Lead Docket now allows customers to ask about document data from the OCR-extracted text.
• Call recordings are now stored in Lead Docket, so customers can play them anytime with the in-app player.

Vinesign

• Document preview is now available on steps 3 and 4 in the document sending setup screens.
