Get More From Microsoft With NinjaOne’s Intune Integration

NinjaOne extends Intune with full endpoint governance from enrollment to retirement, unifying patching, automation, and lifecycle across workstations and servers. Enjoy one‑click remote support, SCIM ITAM, deep linking, and future telemetry for Conditional Access in one integrated stack.

    NinjaOne + Intune integration

NinjaOne’s Intune integration extends Microsoft Intune with full operational endpoint management, enabling IT teams to manage identity, governance, and daily device operations in one unified workflow.

    • It adds comprehensive lifecycle management by handling patching, maintenance, monitoring, and automation to create a seamless lifecycle from enrollment through retirement.
    • It expands fleet coverage by enabling unified management of both workstations and servers, including true server management, which Intune alone cannot provide..
    • It improves technician efficiency with one-click remote access, deep linking, and automated documentation that reduces manual data entry, eliminates human error, and returns time to the team..
    • It strengthens IT asset management and identity coherence through SCIM-based user-to-device mapping and full-lifecycle visibility that goes beyond compliance inventory to true ITAM
    • Deep linking ensures technicians only switch to Intune when identity or compliance work is needed, keeping operational tasks inside NinjaOne where tooling is stronger.
    • The integration also positions organizations for Microsoft’s evolving Conditional Access standards by delivering real operational telemetry that will fuel richer device health signals.

Most IT teams already use Intune as the governance and enrollment layer for their device fleets. What’s often missing is the operational capability to manage those devices on a day-to-day basis once they’re deployed. The NinjaOne integration fills that gap by extending real endpoint management into the Intune ecosystem without disrupting the identity architecture customers have already standardized on.

The goal isn’t to replace Intune. It’s to help you get more from it.

Expand Intune governance with a powerful endpoint management tool.

    Discover Endpoint Management with NinjaOne

    A smarter, stronger stack

Together, NinjaOne and Intune create a modern, identity-first management stack that actually scales. The integration delivers:

Category | What the NinjaOne integration adds
Governance | Intune remains the source of truth for identity enrollment
Lifecycle | NinjaOne handles patching, maintenance, and automation
Fleet coverage | Manage both workstations and servers in one platform
Support | One-click Remote Access for live troubleshooting
ITAM | Real asset lifecycle visibility, not just compliance inventory
Identity context | SCIM user-to-device cohesion
Documentation | Automatic enrichment, no manual entry
Future-proofing | Positioned for Conditional Access evolution

    Expanding endpoint management capabilities

Intune handles compliance, provisioning, policy, and identity. NinjaOne streamlines everyday operations, including monitoring, automation, troubleshooting, and fleet hygiene. Together, they create a unified lifecycle, from enrollment to retirement.

    Managing everything, everywhere

Intune is not built to manage servers. NinjaOne is. This integration enables IT teams to manage workstations and servers through a single operational tool – eliminating the need to split infrastructure coverage across multiple systems.

Patching and software management that scales

Intune sets the policy and guardrails. NinjaOne ensures patching occurs reliably, safely, and at scale, with orchestration, rollout logic, rollback protection, and comprehensive reporting.

    Remote support, real time

Fleet visibility is excellent. However, when an incident occurs, technicians require immediate action. The integration enables them to jump straight from a device record into NinjaOne Remote Access for instant troubleshooting and live support, closing the loop between identity and operations.

Real IT asset management across all devices

A device catalog is the cornerstone of governance. NinjaOne provides true ITAM across both Intune-enrolled and non-Intune devices, offering IT a comprehensive lifecycle view rather than partial inventory snapshot.

    User-to-Device mapping through SCIM

With SCIM, user identities are linked cleanly to their assigned devices, improving troubleshooting, HR offboarding, asset tracking, and audit readiness, and eliminating the need to guess which endpoint belongs to which user.

    Automation that removes the busywork

Device details are collected automatically and synced into documentation. NinjaOne pushes intelligence into native documentation, so teams don’t need to manually maintain asset notes or configuration records. No human error. Just cleaner data and more time for real work.

    Deep linking back to Intune

The integration doesn’t eliminate context switching entirely. It makes it intentional. Deep links enable technicians to jump into Intune only when identity or compliance work is required, while keeping maintenance within NinjaOne, where operational tooling is stronger.

    Positioned for Conditional Access evolution

This integration also positions IT teams for Microsoft’s expanding Conditional Access capabilities. As richer device health signals become available, NinjaOne will be ready to surface real operational telemetry, giving organizations deeper visibility and control.

Patching Smarter, Not Just Faster: How Autonomous Patch Management Reduces Risk

NinjaOne unveils Autonomous Patch Management, a cloud native AI powered solution that automates patching across OS and 6,000+ apps, slashing downtime and aligning IT with business value. It uses Patch Intelligence AI to prioritize risks, import CVEs, and scale securely across any device or environment.

    Key Points

    • Traditional Patching Challenges: Hands-on patching may struggle to balance speed and stability, leaving organizations vulnerable to breaches tied to unpatched systems.
    • Autonomous Patch Management Benefits: Automation reduces manual toil, shortens exposure windows, and keeps systems in compliance.
    • Improved Workflow for Multiple Stakeholders: From system admins to finance teams and even end-users, autonomous patching aligns technical efficiency with business value.
    • Cloud-Native and Scalable Solution: Deploy timely updates across remote, hybrid, and distributed environments without VPNs or on-prem infrastructure.

Traditional patching has always been a balancing act between speed and stability. However, in today’s threat landscape, where data breach costs are rising, that balance can’t come at the cost of security.
With that in mind, there’s even greater value in adopting IT automation. In particular, NinjaOne’s Autonomous Patch Management can fix many traditional patch management workflows (and more). Find out below how NinjaOne combines automation, intelligence, and flexible policy-driven workflows to create a more resilient and scalable IT environment.

Who needs autonomous patch management and why

Autonomous patch management is more than a software upgrade. In many ways, it directly benefits nearly every stakeholder in an organization.

    Role | Autonomous Patching Benefits
System and Platform Administrators | Removes the need to manually track dozens of vendor bulletins, eliminating drift and reducing the manual toil that otherwise consumes their time.
Security Teams | Closes vulnerabilities quickly, shortens the window of exposure, and helps meet standards (e.g., CIST, NST).
Help-Desk and IT Support | Reduces patch-related tickets and emergency reboots, freeing staff to focus on higher-value work.
Compliance and Audit Officers | Provides immutable logs and proof of patching activity to meet PCI-DSS, HIPAA, GDPR, and other audit requirements.
Finance, Procurement | Saves costs by reducing downtime, incident response, and unnecessary licensing, delivering clear ROI.
End Users | Experiences fewer disruptions with intelligent, staged patching outside of working hours and graceful restarts.

Autonomous patch management reduces risks and aligns technical efficiency with business value. As a result, it seamlessly delivers security, compliance, and productivity gains across the organization.

    Pillars of autonomous patch management

      1. Automated patching across OS and applications
It’s no longer enough to only patch operating systems. Attackers exploit weaknesses in unpatched third-party applications every day, and those apps are often business-critical.
NinjaOne supports Windows, macOS, Linux, and over 6,000 third-party applications with the same automation and policy-driven precision. One unified approach closes more gaps, faster, ensures a consistent approach and comprehensive visibility across the whole IT stack.
      1. Autonomous patching with Patch Intelligence AI
This is where patching moves beyond “set it and forget it.”
Patch Intelligence AI continuously analyzes vendor telemetry, community forums, and deployment signals to detect unstable or risky updates. Patches flagged as problematic are automatically paused, even if existing policies exist to approve them, preventing downtime and disruption before it happens.
At the same time, NinjaOne ingests CVE/CVSS data and seamlessly imports vulnerabilities from scanners like Tenable, Qualys, and Rapid7. Critical patches can be prioritized for faster remediation, shrinking exposure windows while ensuring safer rollouts.
With flexible, policy-driven automation and the option for manual intervention, IT teams can confidently align remediation with organizational risk tolerance while retaining the agility to act instantly on zero-day vulnerabilities.
NinjaOne difference: Safer, more reliable patching that strengthens every other security and IT investment.
      1. Reduce the hidden operational cost of bad patches
Patch Intelligence AI isn’t just a security play; it’s a massive operational risk mitigator. If 95% of Windows OS patches are typically deployed successfully, there’s still 5% that fail. At scale, the raw numbers could pose an even greater threat.
Each failure forces IT teams to investigate, uninstall, remediate, and re-deploy. In the process, this avoidable cycle can potentially create an enormous time sink across thousands of endpoints.
By automatically pausing unstable updates, NinjaOne eliminates much of this hidden overhead, saving countless hours while maintaining stability. Not to mention it takes significant pressure off the IT team to chase and recalibrate.
      1. Vulnerability importing and zero-day readiness
NinjaOne integrates directly with scanners, including Tenable, Qualys, and Rapid7, to automatically import vulnerabilities, map them to affected assets, and enable prioritized remediation using CVSS scores.
When zero-day vulnerabilities emerge, IT can bypass automation cycles and apply patches manually, ensuring a fast, targeted response.

    Any device, anywhere
Whether endpoints are in the office, at home, or in the field, NinjaOne ensures they stay patched and protected. Our cloud-native, agent-driven platform requires no VPNs, on-prem servers, or slow network connections.
Patches deploy wherever the device is, keeping security posture consistent across a distributed workforce. For larger environments, patch caching (available with premium licenses) reduces network strain and speeds up patch rollouts.

Scalable and smart patching workflows with NinjaOne

Small environments (a handful of servers or workstations) often get by with ad‑hoc, manual updates. However, mid-size and large environments face exponential complexity regularly. Wherever you’re coming from, NinjaOne’s patch automation provides a path to scale, improve security, and unlock greater business efficiency.

    • 🔁 Unified, risk-driven workflows: Bringing together vulnerability data, patching, and configuration into one seamless engine.
    • 🔐 Security-first automation: Ensuring patches are prioritized by risk, not just by release date.
    • 💻 AI-powered operational assurance: Using Patch Intelligence AI to prevent disruptions and reduce hidden IT costs.

Together, these autonomous workflows ensure organizations don’t just patch faster; they patch smarter. This is what modern vulnerability and patch management should look like for modern or growing MSPs, enterprise IT, SMBs, and hybrid IT environments.

Securing Modern IT Operations: NinjaOne Achieves FedRAMP® Moderate Authorization

NinjaOne earns FedRAMP Moderate ATO, unlocking secure, compliant cloud-native endpoint management for federal agencies. This milestone supports CMMC alignment, faster deployments, real-time visibility, and easier government procurement, with plans for High authorization and broader integrations.

    Co-authored by Egon Rinderer

Modern IT operations in government are under pressure. Agencies must maintain strict compliance with federal cybersecurity standards, while managing diverse environments with limited IT resources. Furthermore, DoD’s finalized DFARS amendment makes CMMC 2.0 a mandatory requirement in applicable DoD solicitations and contracts effective Nov. 10, meaning vendors wishing to do business with the government must meet the appropriate CMMC level prior to award, with noncompliant firms ineligible for contract selection. With these challenges in mind, we’re proud to announce that NinjaOne has achieved Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP®) Authority to Operate (ATO) at the Moderate Impact Level, to help government organizations and their partners confidently modernize their endpoint management and IT operations strategies.

FedRAMP authorization is more than a security benchmark. It enables agencies and contractors to adopt trusted cloud-native solutions that help reduce risk, accelerate response, and improve compliance visibility.

Why FedRAMP Moderate Matters for Government IT

The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) provides a standardized approach to cloud security for Federal agencies, and companies working with the government supporting their mission.

NinjaOne is now one of a few select cloud-based solutions to be granted FedRAMP Moderate ATO, which includes rigorous security controls to protect the federal government’s IT environments.

Combined with frameworks like Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), which establishes a standardized approach to cloud security, we help agencies and contractors confidently advance their missions with compliance-ready infrastructure. NinjaOne was built as a cloud-native platform. This enables fast, secure scalability across federal, state, local, education, and tribal organizations without the burden of legacy infrastructure or multi-month deployments.

NinjaOne’s FedRAMP Moderate achievement means government agencies and the companies that support them can:

    • Confidently adopt a secure, compliant endpoint management platform that aligns with federal standards
    • Automate patching, remediation, software deployment, and policy enforcement across all endpoints
    • Gain real-time visibility into distributed environments including disconnected or off-VPN devices

This release brings major improvements to NinjaOne Backup, giving IT teams and MSPs longer retention options and cleaner protection for shared data.

Image backups now support up to 10-year retention periods, perfect for compliance heavy industries. Also, administrators can now back up data directly from network shares without relying on individual machines. These updates help streamline backup operations, simplify audits, and make recovery faster when it counts.

For further consolidation of these features, please read below:

    • Extended Image Backup Retention – retain backups for 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, or 10 years to meet long-term compliance needs
    • Backup Network Shares – back up shared folders directly from the network, making it easy to protect team assets and critical files without complex setup

    Compound Conditions update

Precision just got a big upgrade. New Compound Condition capabilities give you pinpoint control over monitoring and remediation at scale.

Now, you can continue building powerful, multi-layered conditions based on new specific criteria like Operating System, Process State, Windows Role or Feature, and Daemons. Whether you’re watching for stopped services on SQL servers, targeting out-of-date operating systems, or tracking whether a specific process is running before triggering an action, these updates let you automate with surgical accuracy.

    Android Remote Control goes GA

Android support just leveled up. With full remote control capabilities now generally available, technicians can securely take control of Android devices – not just screenshare – like they would a desktop.

Whether devices are enrolled via MDM or supported ad hoc through Quick Connect, you get the flexibility to deliver fast, secure mobile troubleshooting anytime, anywhere. From helping frontline staff and mobile sales teams to resolving urgent BYOD issues remotely, NinjaOne gives you a unified support experience that keeps work moving, no matter the device.

As always, there’s more to this release than meets the eye! We have several features entering Early Access. To test drive those features, talk to your Account Manager. Please continue participating in shaping the future of our products by providing valuable feedback.
