Aeronaut for Bluesky 1.14
Aeronaut For Bluesky adds Bluesky’s higher image size limit support and a smaller minimum window height.
This update adds support for the higher image size limit just announced by Bluesky. While Aeronaut automatically compresses larger images to fit within the limit, this means your images are less likely to be compressed, and will retain more of their quality when they are.
This update also reduces the minimum window height by about a third, so Aeronaut can take up less space on smaller screens.

Aeronaut for Bluesky 1.10
Aeronaut For Bluesky releases quality of life improvements that remember per-account feeds, open new windows with the last used account, and smarter Activity tab grouping. It downscales oversized images, enables drag-and-drop in the composer, adds character-limit alerts, and fixes a broken-account state after host moves.
Improvements
- When switching between accounts within a window, Aeronaut now remembers your last used feed for each account
- New windows now open with your last used account
- The Activity tab is now smarter about how it groups related notifications so you’ll see fewer individual entries for the same actions
- Images that can’t be reduced to fit Bluesky’s 1MB upload limit by compression alone are now downscaled, so you’ll see fewer failed uploads
- You can now drop images anywhere on the composer window, not just on top of text
- When editing your profile, adding descriptive text to images, or reporting content you’ll now be informed when approaching the character limit
Bug fix
- Finally, this release fixes a bug where removing and re-adding an account after moving it to a different account host would leave the account in a broken state.

Aeronaut for Bluesky 1.7
Aeronaut’s biggest update since launch introduces a share extension, in‑app action notices, and a new spacebar scroll direction setting. It also adds 25+ keyboard shortcuts, a period key top refresh, new arrow key actions, smarter tab shortcuts, and a refreshed refresh shortcut.
Aeronaut release notes
Aeronaut has been in the App Store for a month now—so fittingly this is the biggest release since launch!
- You can now share text and links from other apps and they’ll appear right in the post composer using Aeronaut’s new share extension—support for images to follow
- You’ll now see notices confirming that actions such as liking a post or muting a user have finished, and if your internet connection or Bluesky’s servers are running a bit slowly, a notice will let you know that something is actually happening
- A new Settings option lets you change the direction in which the spacebar scrolls—for folks who prefer scrolling towards the top of their feed
- No fewer than 25 new items with keyboard shortcuts have been added to the main menu, including the ability to cycle tabs, feeds, and accounts, change the text size, like posts, repost, follow users, and much more!
- In feeds of any type you can now use the period (.) key to scroll to the top and refresh the feed
- You can now use the left arrow key to go back, and the right arrow key to perform the default action on a selected item; these join the existing ⌘[ and return/enter key shortcuts
- Tab switching keyboard shortcuts (⌘1 through ⌘8) are now smarter: when you’re already on the tab they’ll take you back to the first page if you’re not already there, or scroll you to the top if you are
- Finally, selected items are now deselected when you ask to be scrolled to the top, so when you next press an arrow key you won’t get taken all the way back down
Note that the refresh keyboard shortcut has changed from ⌘R (now used for reply) to ⌥⌘R.
