Cakedesk adds MCP support for Claude, ChatGPT, and Codex agents to manage invoices, proposals, clients, and settings, with AI actions tracked in Revision History. It also improves overview layouts and fixes saving, selection, and rounding issues.
✨ Connect AI agents like Claude and ChatGPT/Codex to Cakedesk via MCP
Your agent can create and edit invoices, credit notes, and proposals, manage clients, catalog items, and units, change settings, and answer questions about your business.
Enable the MCP server under Settings > Advanced. There, Cakedesk also shows you how to connect your agent.
Every change your agent makes is recorded in the Revision History and marked "by AI agent".

1.39.1 released on October 16, 2026
- ⚡️ The overviews for invoices, proposals, clients, etc. are now much faster

Cakedesk strengthens invoice integrity and security, improves Strict Mode cancellations, expands CSV exports and e-invoicing support, and adds more template customization. The update also improves Swiss formatting and fixes PDF compatibility and layout issues.
Data Integrity
- Improved data integrity: finalizing an invoice now also locks its PDF and e-invoice files
- If a finalized invoice's files are missing or have been changed, Cakedesk now shows an error instead of opening, exporting, or sending them
- Finalized documents can no longer be edited or deleted after turning off Strict Mode. To correct a finalized invoice, cancel it
- "Regenerate PDF" has been removed
Cancellations
- Cancellations are now created as drafts in Strict Mode
- Until a cancellation is finalized, you can edit its number, date, text, language, and template, or delete it to uncancel the original invoice
- In Strict Mode, cancellations need to be finalized like other invoices
Exporting
- Invoices and proposals can now be fully exported using separate CSV files for documents, items, discounts, and taxes.
E-Invoicing
- E-invoicing can now be enabled for businesses outside Germany by going to Settings > Advanced.
- E-invoices now include the contact person's name, phone number, and email address stored on the client
- You can now set or clear a due date for each e-invoice. The date is saved with the invoice
Custom Templates
- Custom templates: The contact person's name and phone number are also available in invoice and proposal templates as document.buyer.firstName, document.buyer.lastName, and document.buyer.phone.
- You can now include proposal text ({document.introText}) and invoice text ({document.outroText}) in email templates.
- Custom templates: The new document.dueDate variable provides the invoice's saved due date, when set.
Templates
- The Cake, Hacker Light, Hacker Dark, and Industrial templates now offer additional font and color customization options
- Fixed an issue where German delivery/service date and period labels could wrap in the Hacker templates
- Fixed an issue where labels could wrap onto multiple lines in the Printshop template
- Fixed missing spacing around top-level item descriptions in the Outline template
Number and Currency Formats
- Invoices and proposals from Swiss sellers now use Swiss number and currency formats when the document language is German (for example, CHF 1'000.00)
Fixes and Improvements
- Fixed a PDF structure compatibility issue that could prevent ZUGFeRD invoices from opening in some versions of Adobe Acrobat
- Cakedesk now shows an error message with recovery instructions if opening or exporting invoice or proposal PDFs fails
- Improved security: Cakedesk's local server now only accepts requests from the Cakedesk app

Cakedesk adds CSV exports for revision history, clients, invoices, and proposals, plus invoice email attachments and broader e-invoice compatibility. It also improves templates, revision history, and client imports, and fixes several invoice and proposal issues.
💌 You can now attach additional files when emailing invoices and proposals from Cakedesk
You can now export the Revision History as a CSV file
You can now export clients, invoices, and proposals as CSV files
E-invoices now support buyer-assigned supplier numbers (BT-29) and buyer identifiers (BT-46). You can enter them in a client's e-invoice settings
Invoice and proposal templates now show non-zero item quantities even when the item total is 0
The Plain template can now show seller phone, email, and website on invoices and proposals. Enable "Show Seller Contact Info" in the template options to display them
Cayman Islands can now be selected as a country
New entries in Revision History now store client, invoice, and proposal numbers directly. This keeps the number that was valid at the time visible even if it is changed later or the document is deleted, instead of falling back to an internal ID
Fixed an issue where client number, invoice number, and invoice date could wrap in the Printshop template when a delivery or service period was set
ZUGFeRD PDFs now use the EN 16931 profile and embed invoice data as factur-x.xml for broader compatibility with receiving systems
Fixed an issue where e-invoices used the German EAS code for non-German VAT IDs
When creating invoices, proposals, and catalog items, line items without a title are no longer removed
Fixed an issue where importing multiple clients could fail when using timestamp-based client numbers

Cakedesk releases Strict Mode for invoices and credit notes, protecting finalized documents and keeping drafts out of revenue totals. The update also adds resizable previews, easier navigation, improved table scrolling, template options, and fixes across settings, invoicing, and app stability.
✨ Cakedesk now supports Strict Mode for invoices and credit notes
In Strict Mode, documents must be finalized before they can be sent or marked as paid.
Strict Mode can be turned on or off under Settings > Advanced.
Finalized documents are protected from accidental editing and deletion.
Unfinalized PDFs are marked with a draft stamp.
The Overview Screen now treats unfinalized invoices as pending instead of revenue in Strict Mode.
You can now open preview sidebars for clients, invoices, and proposals, toggle them with Space, and resize them to fit your workspace.
Client, invoice, and proposal tables can now be scrolled horizontally, so columns are no longer squeezed when there isn't enough room.
You can now use Cmd/Ctrl + 1 through Cmd/Ctrl + 7 to switch between Overview, Clients, Invoices, Proposals, etc.
The Cake template now has an option to place the logo at the top left or top right.
Settings
Cakedesk now remembers the last settings tab you opened.
When inserting a catalog item into an invoice or proposal, Cakedesk now applies your default VAT rate to items that don't have a VAT rate of their own.
Database updates during app upgrades are now more robust and better protected against data loss.
Fixed
- Fixed an issue where table selection could get out of sync after opening and closing sidebars or switching to a different view.
- Fixed an issue where clicking while holding Shift could open a second window.
- Fixed an issue where pressing Escape did not close some modals.
- Fixed an issue where cancellation document text used a date format that was too short.
- Fixed an issue where a link in the German setup flow did not open correctly.
