v0.13.6 brings AI into CrossWatch with Assistant and MCP.

Ask CrossWatch is a built-in assistant that looks at your health, syncs, logs, events and settings and explains what went wrong. It can also suggest a next step, like a sync or a capture. This can help you find and fix many sync issues.

No AI key? Ask CrossWatch still answers how-to questions from the CrossWatch wiki.

You bring the AI model: a cloud provider with your own key, or a free local model like Ollama or LM Studio. CW ships no model.

Release:

v0.13.5 improves the Kodi add-on. Viewers can now be matched by user profile, and ratings given in Kodi can be sent to your trackers and Plex. This release also adds optional file-path matching between media servers syncs and makes fixing matches in Analyzer much easier. Scheduler webhooks can now notify Pushover and ntfy directly, and can warn you when the watcher stops or a provider sign-in is lost.

v0.13.4 adds MyAnimeList as a new provider and introduces support for split and combined episode mappings.

It also improves matching in the Analyzer, Interactive Sync exports, and anime-aware views.

MyAnimeList (MAL) support: Sync anime watchlists, ratings, and watched episodes and completion scrobbling.

Split/combined episodes: Map one combined episode to multiple separate episodes for History sync.

For movies, finds the same film under different IDs, or tells you when the other provider does not list it.

Anime-aware views: Dashboard widgets, profile pages and library counts follow enabled sync pairs.

CrossWatch v0.13.3

Release

Kodi can now scrobble through the new Kodi add-on, that also knows who is watching.

The addon is developed and maintained by @Rouzax

Kitsu is now available for anime watchlist, ratings, watched history and scrobbling. This is experimental.

Stremio can now scrobble to your trackers through a CW add-on. This is experimental and needs CW on HTTPS.

You can now tell a sync pair to only sync what is actually in your media server library. Great for destinations such as Plex, Emby, etc.

SIMKL to AniList/Kitsu history can now follow your SIMKL watch status between these two services.

The Watcher now checks Emby, Jellyfin, Kodi and Scrob less often and you can set the interval per route in watcher.

CrossWatch v0.13.1

This release makes Trakt available to everyone again. At least..for now.

You can now connect with a simple PIN code, without creating your own Trakt API app.

Trakt users with a free account will be able to connect to Trakt again. Existing Trakt users with own app needs to reconnect.

Recovery Plex history has been improved as you can also select Tautulli as source with autodetection for missing IDs.

CrossWatch v0.13.0

This release gives movies and shows that share the same TMDB ID their own identity.

Sounds boring, I know, but this is an incredibly important architectural change for CrossWatch.

Upgrade note:

Existing data is upgraded to the new identity on first use and older versions cannot read it correctly afterwards.

The first sync after upgrading can add titles that were missing before.

You cannot downgrade to any version before v0.13.x anymore.

CrossWatch v0.12.4

I’ll be honest, this is a tricky update. I had to make changes to the orchestrator, which always carries risk.

If you have issues, run the sync state maintenance task... still issues? i see you in discussions on github :-D

That being said, this release adds Tracearr as a new provider, Nuvio self-hosted support and moves SIMKL to its new AUTH V2.

Upgrade note:

SIMKL is retiring its old login (AUTH V1) and i will remove the V1 app at the end of this year. Reconnect your SIMKL ASAP

Existing SIMKL connections keep working until then. But you need to reconnect SIMKL once before the end of the year.

If you use OAuth with your own SIMKL keys, migrate to the pin flow.

CrossWatch v0.12.3

This release makes the Profile page the main place to see where each title lives across your providers.

I've added new tabs, (bulk) remove support and a new media details modal.

The idea is to make Profile has a (simple)tracker look, while keeping the main focus on your syncs/scrobble info.

Also some scrobble updates for Watcher and Webhooks, including media server support for different versions like 1080p and 4K.

Experimental support for PlexKodiConnect. To use it, enable PlexKodiConnect compatibility in the options of your Watcher route.

Added destination library whitelisting for Watcher and Webhook routes, allowing media server scrobbles to update only selected libraries

This release adds individual item removal from providers, improved Plex history recovery and SIMKL rewatch tracking through watchers and webhooks. It also introduces configurable history matching tolerance to prevent duplicates.

Sync state is now stored separately for each pair. Existing pairs rebuild their baselines on the next sync, which will take longer than usual.

This release includes several caching methods, which should result in faster page loads when content is cached.

It also includes additional security hardening and UI tuning.

Plex watcher reworked: routes now handle missing playback users more strict.

CW will try to resolve the real Plex user from the active session before applying username filters.

The (old)fallback behavior is still available (and enabled) for existing routes but for new routes the default is disabled (strict).

After upgrading, be sure to test your routes.
