Desktop App

• You can now raise and lower your hand while screen sharing.
• You can now save a screenshot directly while screen sharing. From the screen sharing capsule, click Settings or the three dots and select Save Screenshot.
• You can configure whether screenshots save to your downloads folder or clipboard in Settings > Screen Share > Save Screenshots To.
• You can now toggle a message as read or unread with Control-Click (Mac) or Option + Click (PC & Linux).
• Fixed an issue that caused sound-only sharing to stop after a few seconds in certain scenarios.
• Various bug fixes and improvements.

Developer

• Personal access tokens now send as their own bot identity, linked to yours. You can chat directly with your bot, and it shows up as its own conversation.
• Each token gets its own bot persona. It uses the token name and you can upload an avatar in Settings > Developer > Personal Access Tokens.
• Other people see your bot’s messages with a composite avatar (your photo + bot badge) and the name “YourName (via BotName)” so they know who’s behind it.
• Your personal bot still has access to read all your chats and groups, no need to add it separately.
• If you need the bot to send as you (not as the bot), grant it the new “Impersonate” permission and pass

New Feature

• Introducing an updated chat composer with a cleaner, simpler interface and easier access to key chat features.
• Interactions on the map are now more streamlined: click an open seat to knock, click someone’s seat to start a chat if they’re away, or click their profile picture to invite or wave. You can also right-click or Control-click their profile picture to see all available interaction options.

Desktop App

• Magic Minutes now works live in Private Offices and Team Rooms (in addition to Meeting Rooms and the Theater), so you can ask questions about the meeting while it’s happening.
• Magicasts now include automatically generated chapters, so viewers can jump directly to the right part of any recorded video.
• You can now edit a meeting title after it ends by clicking the title in the Recordings window.
• Various bug fixes and improvements.

Introducing Magicast Trimming, Record a Portion of your Screen, and Custom Cover Images

• Trim your Magicast using the new Trim Magicast button in the Magicast window.
• Record a specific portion of your screen via Screen > Select Area, then choose Record Selected Area (Mac and Windows only).
• Set a cover image by selecting a video frame or uploading a custom image.
• Enjoy faster Magicast uploads and downloads, along with general usability improvements

Introducing Claude Code on the Map

See when colleagues are using Claude Code directly on the Roam map. When enabled, offices glow and display the Claude logo while Claude Code is in use.

Introducing Individual Microsoft Calendar Integration

Connect your individual or personal Outlook Calendar to Roam in Settings > Integrations. For company-managed Outlook accounts, a Microsoft 365 admin must first grant account-level permissions before individuals can connect.

Introducing On-Air In-Person Events

Schedule and manage in-person events with On-Air. When creating an event, go to Settings and change the Event Type to In-Person Event. During the event, manually mark guests as attended from the On-Air guest list.

Desktop App

• Raised hands now automatically lower shortly after you begin speaking.
• Copy action items in markdown format using the new copy button.
• Added a copy button for code blocks in chat.

Introducing 300-Person Video Meeting Room Capacity & Active Speaker View

Roam has achieved a significant technical breakthrough in video conferencing: Effectively immediately, Roam now supports video conferencing meetings for up to 300 people.

Roam also adds an Active Speaker view to the Meeting Room, with the following layout options:

• Active Speaker automatically pins the primary speaker.
• Gallery displays a grid of equally sized videos.
• Dynamic automatically switches between Active Speaker and Gallery based on the number of participants.

Roam members will receive top-quality, smooth video conferencing across a variety of devices, platforms and conditions. This was a significant R&D effort, culminating in our breakthrough Magic Multiplexing Selective Forwarding Unit (SFU). Read more technical details about our proprietary, patent-pending

technology. But for most of you, just meet and enjoy.

Desktop App

• The image viewer now supports zooming and panning images sent in chat.
• Drag images directly from the viewer to your desktop to save them.
• Magic Minutes in a live meeting now includes suggestions for common prompts.
• Create a new Group Chat from a multi-person DM. Click the three dots at the right > New Group Chat where you can add or remove participants.
• Improved transcriptions and closed caption experience for users experiencing internet issues or network degradation.
• Administrators can now configure the spoken language setting for other members in Settings > Roam Administration > Members > Edit Member.
• Various bug fixes and improvements.

Introducing the All-New Recordings Window

The new Recordings window brings all of your Magic Minutes, Meeting Recordings, and Magicasts into a single interface.

• Video recordings now include an interactive timeline synchronized with the full meeting transcript, with tabs for Participants, Action Items, and the Meeting Summary.
• Easily share recordings with new links that include both the Magic Minutes and the video recording timeline.
• Search the transcript and instantly jump to that moment in the video.
• Filter recordings by date range, meeting participants, meeting template, and more.
• Prompt Magic Minutes to ask private questions about the meeting directly in the Summary tab.
• Create password-protected links to your meeting recordings and Magicasts.
• The Magicasts tab shows all your Magicasts in a single view.
• The On-Air tab displays all of your previously recorded events, with access to the video recording and Magic Minutes.

• Create a poll in any Group Chat to quickly gather input from your team. Watch responses come in, see how everyone voted, and instantly view the winning option. Just click the “Create a Poll” icon in the message composer to get started.

Desktop App

• New Daily Metrics Report Email for Admins. Get a daily digest of important usage metrics for your Roam delivered to admins at the end of each day. Enable in Settings > Roam Administration > Onboarding Checklist.

Introducing On-Air

• Now anyone can host Immersive Events for the Creator-Era.
• Create your RSVP page, invite your guests, download your social media press kit, send blasts, and host your event in our immersive Theater.
• RSVP for the On-Air Launch Event this Thursday, February 26, at 12pm ET in Roam.

Desktop App

• Emoji reactions on meeting chat messages are now available on Desktop and Android, with iOS coming next week.
• Roam is building improved background blur and background replacement. To help with this effort, you can choose to opt-in to allowing us to capture short video clips for the purpose of training and improving the service. Account admins can turn this off or have existing videos deleted for members of their organization in Roam Administration > Technical Setup > Video Capture for Blur and Background Replacement Training.
• The calendar for Lobby and Out of Office now respects your device’s locale settings for the start of the week (Sunday or Monday).
• Partner Floor Admins can now perform floor admin actions for partner customers.

• Non-members can no longer stop recordings in meetings they are attending.
