Connect Roam to Claude & ChatGPT

• You can now connect Roam to Claude and ChatGPT to chat with the full context of your Roam meetings and conversations. Ask questions, prepare for meetings, synthesize decisions, uncover patterns, and get answers powered by your organization’s knowledge in Roam.
• Previously available only to developers, this integration is now available to everyone. Connect Roam’s MCP server to your favorite AI assistant in about a minute and unlock a new way of working.

Desktop App

• Improved the Next Generation Virtual Background & Blur beta with enhanced detection of headphones and handheld objects.
• You can now right-click a person in a room on the map to start a chat with everyone in that room.
• Guests can enable captions in Settings > Closed Captions.
• When scheduling a Roam Meeting in Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook, you can now choose to have all participants join muted by default.
• Fixed a rare issue on macOS that could cause the Roam app auto-updater to fail.
• Various bug fixes and improvements.

iOS App (v218)

• Fixed an issue where audio shared during screen sharing was not played correctly for meeting participants.

New Feature

• Share into Roam from other mobile apps on iOS & Android. You can now share links, images, and other content directly into Roam. Just tap the Share button in your favorite app and choose the person or Group Chat you’d like to send it to in Roam.

Desktop App

• Improved meeting noise suppression. We’ve upgraded to the latest noise suppression models for clearer audio quality.
• You can now invite everyone in a room to join you by right-clicking on any person in the room and selecting the invite all option.
• Text snippets now support syntax highlighting while you’re composing them, in addition to after they’re sent.
• Guests now require an invitation before they can move to the stage or backstage in the Theater.
• Various bug fixes and improvements.

New Features

• Run an OpenClaw or Hermes AI agent inside Roam chat.
• Your agents can have two bot shapes, run side by side or solo:
• Personal Bot (via Personal Access Token, which acts as you)
  • Private DM with your own agent. (only you can DM with your agent)
  • @ mention your agent from any chat to pull it in on your behalf
  • It can post anywhere you can
• Org Bot (via API Key, your agent has its own persona)
  • Anyone in your Roam can DM it
  • Add to a channel for proactive every-message replies (e.g. alert triage) or leave it mention-only
  • Pulled into threads via @-mention from anywhere

Desktop App

• You can now share Magicasts in meetings. Click Share > Share File > Select Your Magicast.
• You can now configure a separate SAML identity provider for each domain instead of a single identity provider for your entire account.
• When your Lobby displays a large number of available time slots, they are automatically grouped into Overnight, Morning, Afternoon, and Evening sections, making it easy for guests to jump between times of day. The Overnight section starts collapsed by default so daytime availability is more prominent, which is especially helpful when your guests are booking from a significantly different time zone.
• Various bug fixes and improvements.

New Feature

• Introducing Lobby Landing Pages! You can now create landing pages that showcase multiple Roam Lobbies in one place, making it easier to guide guests to the right meeting. Let visitors choose a meeting type, topic, or host so they can quickly find the best destination and book time with the right person or team. Perfect for sales, support, recruiting, or any team managing multiple booking paths. Click Lobby > Landing Pages.

Desktop App

• Improved Floor Map Designer with drag-and-drop editing.
• Camera selection behavior has been updated for users who switch between desk setups with external cameras and laptop-only setups. Roam will now prioritize the most recently explicitly selected camera when starting a meeting.

iOS App (v215)

• You can now tap your badge to easily find and share your Guest Link and Lobby Link.

New Feature

• Introducing Magicast Comments! You can now comment directly on a Magicast. Leave general comments or comment on a specific moment in the timeline. Add rich text, GIFs, polls, links, and files, then reply in threads or react with emoji.

Desktop App

• You can now enable Auto-DND for Microsoft Teams directly from the meeting start notification or from your Agenda, without starting Magic Minutes.
• Pi Coding Agent is now supported on the map, in addition to the existing Claude Code and Codex support.
• Introducing an early beta of the next-generation Virtual Background and Blur experience.
  • This new pipeline significantly improves the quality and performance of virtual backgrounds and background blur.
  • To try it, go to Settings > Advanced > Virtual Background, Blur, & Face Touch Up and choose “Enhanced native pipeline” or “Enhanced native pipeline (small model)”
  • On Windows, the “Use Hardware Acceleration For Capturing Video” setting must be enabled (requires a recent version of Windows).
  • If the new experience feels slow, enabling “Use Dedicated Graphics if Available” may improve performance.

New Features

• Magic Minutes Speaker Detection for External Meetings! Magic Minutes can now detect and distinguish between multiple speakers when joining external meetings on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet. Using the context of the meeting transcript, Magic Minutes intelligently identifies and labels speakers in the meeting automatically.
• Set Calendar Date-Specific Lobby Availability! You can now customize your Roam Lobby availability for specific calendar dates to account for vacations, travel, holidays, or other schedule changes. Override your normal availability on a day-by-day basis to keep your booking page accurate and up to date. In Lobby Details > Availability > Set Your Availability > Date-Specific Hours.

Desktop App

• You can now leave a message after knocking. When you knock on someone’s door and they don’t answer, you can now click to instantly leave a chat or voice message.
• Replies to Lobby Booking emails are now delivered directly to the Meeting Host.
• Admins can now download a .csv list of billed members and Roamvision conference rooms for each month’s invoice.
• Various bug fixes and improvements.

Developer

• The official Roam channel plugin for OpenClaw is now live, allowing you to DM with your agents. See the installation instructions, and check out this quick Magicast walkthrough.

iOS App (v213)

• Manage Group Chat Settings on iOS. You can now manage Group Chat Settings on iOS including adding or removing members, editing the Group Chat Name, Image, and Description.

New Feature

• Message Guests Waiting to Be Admitted. You can now message guests while they wait to be admitted. Say hello, let them know someone from your team will join shortly, or let them know you’re running late and will admit them soon.

Desktop App

• Improved name search when @mentioning someone in chat or typing a name while composing a new message.
• You can now open inline code blocks in an expanded view with formatting options.
• Fixed an issue where Outlook prompted users to sign in to Microsoft 365 more often than necessary when scheduling meetings.
• Improved handling of macOS system mute and unmute sounds when using non-Bluetooth audio devices.
• Various bug fixes and improvements.

Lobby

• Selectable meeting durations. Give visitors more flexibility when booking by offering multiple duration options in Lobby > General > Add Duration Option.
• Cross-calendar conflict checking. Detect scheduling conflicts across both Microsoft Outlook and Google Calendar, including personal and company calendars, for more accurate availability.
• Customize the field and placeholder text for the Name and Email questions in Lobby > Custom Questions.

Desktop App

• Use Apple AirPods gestures to mute and unmute during Roam meetings (Mac only).
• Magicast transcripts can now be copied to the clipboard without downloading.
• Fixed screen sharing issues on Linux Wayland.
• Various bug fixes and improvements.

iOS App (v211)

• Push notifications for chat messages now display the sender or group chat profile picture.

All-New Lobby Design

• The Roam Lobby now has a new modernized design and layout. Easily manage and search your booking links, customize the appearance of your public booking page, and discover powerful setup options.
• New optional “Simple Lobby” style for a streamlined calendar layout on your public booking page. Customize the Lobby Page with your company colors and logo.
• Your Personal Links and Company Links as well as upcoming scheduled lobby bookings and Conflict Calendar settings now appear in the far left column.
• Easy lobby setup and discoverability. Important settings like custom questions, meeting templates, email & SMS Reminders, availability, and meeting location are now listed as top level options in the lobby details.

Desktop App

• Magicast Teleprompter. You can now add a script to Magicast, which will automatically scroll while you’re recording for polished video messages and walkthroughs. Teleprompter is also available live in Meeting Rooms and the Theater in Settings > Teleprompter.
• Auto-lower hand when speaking can now be turned off for use cases where teams want to preserve the order during presentations or structured discussions.
• When prompting @MagicMinutes in a chat thread, the answer now streams in real-time, so you no longer need to wait for the full reply.
• Various bug fixes and improvements.

New Features

• Introducing Codex on the Map. When enabled, offices glow and display the Codex logo when Codex is in use (Mac and Linux only).
• Introducing Custom Roamoji Sounds. Customize the soundboard with your own Roamojis with custom sounds. Admins and Floor Editors can add new Roamoji. We’ve also added two new Roamoji: cha-ching and crickets.

Desktop App

• Roamoji sent by others now display while you’re screen sharing.
• Right-click or Alt/Option-click on a seat on the map to courtesy knock before entering a room with an Open access mode.
• Add polls to Meeting Chat in Meeting Rooms and the Theater (currently Desktop only).
• You can now require guests to enter an email address before entering a meeting in Settings > Links.
• Various bug fixes and improvements.

Desktop App

• You can now raise and lower your hand while screen sharing.
• You can now save a screenshot directly while screen sharing. From the screen sharing capsule, click Settings or the three dots and select Save Screenshot.
• You can configure whether screenshots save to your downloads folder or clipboard in Settings > Screen Share > Save Screenshots To.
• You can now toggle a message as read or unread with Control-Click (Mac) or Option + Click (PC & Linux).
• Fixed an issue that caused sound-only sharing to stop after a few seconds in certain scenarios.
• Various bug fixes and improvements.

Developer

• Personal access tokens now send as their own bot identity, linked to yours. You can chat directly with your bot, and it shows up as its own conversation.
• Each token gets its own bot persona. It uses the token name and you can upload an avatar in Settings > Developer > Personal Access Tokens.
• Other people see your bot’s messages with a composite avatar (your photo + bot badge) and the name “YourName (via BotName)” so they know who’s behind it.
• Your personal bot still has access to read all your chats and groups, no need to add it separately.
• If you need the bot to send as you (not as the bot), grant it the new “Impersonate” permission and pass
