Introducing Enhance Video and Portrait Lighting

• Look your best on every call! Enhance Video automatically adjusts exposure and color for clearer video in different lighting. Portrait Lighting brightens you while dimming the background. Adjust either effect’s strength in Video settings.

Desktop App

• On Windows and Linux, knock and room invitation notifications now include Accept and Decline buttons, so you can respond directly from the notification.
• Share a Magicast or meeting recording from a specific point in playback so viewers open it at the moment you choose.
• Select someone in your current room from Spotlight Search to bring them to the first page of your video layout, making it easier to keep track of people in large meetings.
• Search Lobby links and landing pages by name, URL, or description.
• Various bug fixes and improvements.

iOS App (v237)

• Browse files shared with you in the new Files tab.
• Add recently shared files to a chat message from the composer’s Recent Files option.

Introducing Connect Your AI

• Easily connect your favorite AI assistants, including Claude, ChatGPT, Muse, Grok, and more, to Roam. Ask questions about your Roam meetings and chats directly from the AI assistant you already use, without switching apps. In the new AI Assistants section in the AInbox.

Updated Mobile Chat on iOS

• Enjoy a fresh new look, improved navigation, and a smoother, more intuitive chat experience on the go. With 3D Chat on the Map and numerous enhancements and new features, Mobile Chat is now closer than ever to the desktop experience. Plus, the Roam mobile app is now fully optimized for iPhone Duo!

Desktop App

• Choose between list and icon views when browsing your Files & Recordings.
• Schedule chat messages by clicking the + icon in the message composer (in addition to the existing method of right-clicking on the Send button).

Introducing Advanced Face Touch Up

• Upgraded Face Touch Up gives you a more natural, photo-retouched look, smoothing skin while preserving fine facial details. Stronger smoothing is still available for those who prefer it.
• Smarter face detection keeps glasses, facial hair, and objects in front of your face, like a waving hand, free from smoothing.
• Face Touch Up now works on lower performance computers that previously didn’t support it.
• Touch up now updates 5x more often and uses fewer resources when combined with background blur or a virtual background.
• Adjust the strength to your taste in Settings > Video or by clicking the caret next to the Start/Stop Video button.

Desktop App

• Shared folders and the Magic Minutes and Magicasts filed in them are now accessible through Roam’s MCP integration. Ask questions to your to AI assistant about meetings shared with you, even if you didn’t attend.
• New API endpoints let you list folders, view their contents, and look up folder members and roles.
• Fixed an issue where Microsoft Teams audio could be missing when recording meetings with Magic Minutes on Windows.
• Drag and drop Magic Minutes and Magicasts into shared folders to easily organize and share them with your team.
• Various bug fixes and improvements.

Introducing Shared Folders for Magic Minutes & Magicast

• Create shared folders and add Magic Minutes and Magicasts to easily share them with your team. Admins can create custom workflows to automatically share Meetings and Magicasts based on User Groups, Meeting Titles, or Lobby.

Desktop App

• New Drafts & Scheduled Messages Section in your AInbox. Drafts now sync across all your devices, so you can start a message on mobile and pick up right where you left off when you’re back on desktop.

Introducing Import From Slack

An all-new way to move your Slack workspace into Roam.

• Import from Slack right from the AInbox in your #Channels folder.
• Simply drag & drop your Slack workspace file to start importing your Slack history including messages, files, and attachments.
• Bulk import channels, or select individual channels.
• Merge Slack history into existing Roam channels!
• Import from Slack automatically maps historical messages to your existing Roam members and makes them searchable in Roam.

• Drag and drop video tiles to rearrange them during a video meeting!
• Roam now automatically puts you in your office when you launch the app. Configure in Settings > General > When Roam Launches.
• Roamvision conference rooms now display today’s agenda and the current date and time on the Overworld.
• You can now disable the always on top behavior for the floating video participants window.
• Hitting the escape key no longer dismisses popped-out windows.

#Channels Features

• A refreshed visual design across chat, with cleaner layouts and updated controls.
• A new third panel for threads so you can follow conversations without losing your place.
• A left rail for switching views and moving quickly between different chat modes.
• Group Chats now become #Channels.
• Files tab to easily search files from across your chats. Each chat now has its own files tab for easy access to files in specific channels or DMs.
• Unread counters for DMs and channel mentions make it easier to see what needs your attention.
• New directories for users, channels, user groups, and guests make it easier to find people and conversations.
• Improved channel settings and administration with a simpler management experience.
• Quote replies and threaded replies are now available in both channels and DMs.
• Rich text formatting is now available in both channels and DMs.
• New Drafts and Scheduled messages view.
• Click the Roam icon to return to Map view when viewing Inbox in a separate window.

• Improved history navigation, including browser-style swipe gestures backwards and forwards.
• Recent chat history now syncs across devices.
• Use Command+K or Ctrl+K to quickly move through recent chats or search for channels and people.
• Scroll position is now recalled when switching between chats.
• Option+Click or Alt+Click in AInbox to quickly toggle a conversation between read and unread.
• Resizable panels let you customize your layout, or double-click a divider to automatically size each of the three panels for your window.

• Easily embed a Magicast on your website. Open your Magicast, click the Embed button, and click Copy Code.
• On-Air recurring events pages now handle past and upcoming dates more clearly.

Roam’s major upgrade to chat is ready for iPhone and iPad, with an all-new Inbox, a two-column layout on iPad, a new Directory for browsing users, channels, guests, and user groups, tools for creating and managing user groups, and drafts visible directly from the Inbox.

Introducing App Actions + Slash Commands

• Build your own actions right into Roam chat. Create slash commands that launch custom forms and workflows, or add actions accessible from any message’s context menu.

Introducing Custom Activity on the Map

Roam already shows when you’re coding with Claude, listening to Spotify, or in an external video meeting. Now, with our new External Activity API, you can bring custom activity to the Map. Show an emoji on your sales team’s private offices when they’re on a sales call, surface live activity from internal tools, or make offices glow or automatically set DND based on activity in other apps.

Desktop App

• Meeting Rooms are now called Video Rooms and Team Rooms are now called Audio Rooms.
• Auto-DND for Google Meet is now supported on Windows when you use the Google Meet Progressive Web App.
• You can now open the Recordings window to view your existing Magicasts directly from the Magicast recording window.
• Various bug fixes and improvements.

Introducing Seamless Device Switching in Meetings

• You can now seamlessly switch devices, such as from a laptop to a phone or vice versa, without leaving your current meeting. On the device you’d like to switch to, go to the Overworld and click or tap “Switch” to continue the meeting on that device.

Lobby

• You can now configure Drop-in to work outside your available hours, allowing visitors to drop in anytime you’re alone in your private office and not in DND mode. Enable in Lobby Details > General > Drop-Ins Outside Available Hours.
• Drop in activity now posts when Post in a Chat Group is configured in Lobby Details > Advanced.

Desktop App

• Support for seamless device switching in meetings.
• You can now hover over a teammate’s office name to see their current local time (if they’ve chosen to display their timezone on their profile badge).
• Various bug fixes and improvements.
