Sprout Social releases tagging for Instagram Reels, letting creators tag up to 20 user tags and 20 product tags directly in Compose. Tags appear in the Reel’s lower-left corner and product tags may show in the post preview when both tag types are used, boosting engagement and sales.

This update is designed to help you drive product sales and boost engagement by leveraging both user and product tags.
How it works:
Tagging Reels is now just as easy as tagging an image post:
- In Compose, upload your video for an Instagram Reel.
- On the thumbnail, click Tag People and Products .
- In the open modal, use the People and Product Tagging tabs to add your tags (up to 20 user tags and 20 product tags).
Note: Tags will appear in the lower left-hand corner of your Reel. If you apply both user and product tags, only product tags will display in the post preview within Sprout. Learn more here and here .
